SYDNEY: Kia Australia has expanded its diverse hybrid vehicle line-up with the all-new Seltos.
"As customer demand for electrified vehicles continues to grow, the all-new Seltos will further strengthen Kia's presence in the highly competitive small SUV segment," said Kia Australia CEO Dennis Piccoli.
Built on Kia's latest K3 platform, all Seltos variants have a 1.6-litre Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) powertrain, pairing a petrol engine with an electric motor and high-voltage battery.
All variants have a six-speed dual-clutch transmission.
The Seltos is rated with a combined fuel consumption (WLTP) from 5.1 litres per 100km (S trim).

Front-wheel-drive models deliver a combined system output of 112kW (152PS) and 265Nm.
The flagship GT-Line introduces an electrified all-wheel-drive system, marking a first for Kia Australia's hybrid model portfolio.
Unlike traditional all-wheel-drive systems that utilise a mechanical driveshaft to transmit power between the front and rear axles, Seltos e-AWD adopts a more sophisticated EV (electric vehicle)-inspired architecture.
A dedicated rear electric motor operates independently from the front powertrain, providing power directly to the rear wheels when required.
This approach delivers numerous advantages, including improved packaging, greater drivetrain efficiency and enhanced traction in low-grip conditions.

The system enables a combined power output of 126kW (171PS), while maintaining the efficiency benefits of a hybrid powertrain.
There is also Smart Regenerative Braking 3, which is activated by pressing and holding the right-hand steering wheel paddle shifter to automatically adjust regenerative braking force according to traffic flow and driver behaviour.
By intelligently managing energy recovery, the system helps maximise efficiency.
The Seltos adopts a dramatically reimagined appearance.
At the front, vertically oriented headlamps and daytime running lights positioned at the outer edges create a wider visual stance, complemented by a broader grille treatment and robust bumper design.

In profile, the all-new Seltos benefits from stronger proportions and a more athletic silhouette.
Flush-fitting door handles contribute to a cleaner appearance.
At the rear, a full-width light signature emphasises the vehicle's proportions.
Overall length has increased by 45mm to 4,430mm, while width grows by 30mm to 1,830mm.
Wheelbase expands by 60mm to 2,690mm, contributing to an additional 25mm of legroom and 12 - 14mm of headroom on non-panoramic sunroof variants.

Also, the new Seltos delivers increased passenger space in key areas throughout the cabin, and cargo capacity increases to 483 litres (VDA).
All variants are equipped with reclining second-row seating featuring adjustable backrest angles of up to 24 degrees.
All models also feature wireless as well as wired Apple CarPlay and Android Auto phone mirroring ability.
Meanwhile, Forward Collision Avoidance Assist 2 (FCA 2) is standard across the range and represents the latest evolution of Kia's Autonomous Emergency Braking technology.
New to Kia's Australian line-up is an In-Cabin Safety Camera, which uses an interior-mounted camera to monitor front passenger seating positions and support optimal operation of key safety systems.
Further occupant protection is provided through the inclusion of a centre-side airbag positioned between the front seats.
