2026 Mercedes-Benz GLC with EQ Tech: Up to 713km, 800V system

MUNICH: The 2026 all-new electric Mercedes‑Benz GLC with EQ Technology gets a 800-volt system, which significantly reduces charging time.

The new GLC can recharge for up to 303km in 10 minutes, and is fitted with a 94kWh lithium-ion battery.

A DC converter is installed on a country-specific basis. This enables charging at 400-volt fast charging stations.

When connected to a compatible bidirectional DC charging station, it can store solar power and serve as a power supplier for home (V2H) or the power grid (V2G).

At market launch, the top-of-the-range GLC 400 4Matic with 360kW offers up to 713km of range. Four GLC models will follow.

Meanwhile, the Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS) has advanced artificial intelligence (AI), enabling the vehicle to learn driver preferences, adapt to changing conditions and make decisions in real time for a more intuitive experience.

Also, it’s the first Mercedes-Benz with the redesigned brand-defining chromed grille.

In a statement, Mercedes‑Benz said, "As an illuminated high-tech masterpiece, this iconic grille redefines the face of the brand, exuding prestige and self-confidence."

As for the interior, it features the design philosophy of Sensual Purity, and the floating new MBUX Hyperscreen creates an immersive spatial experience.

The new 99.3cm (39.1inch) MBUX Hyperscreen is the largest screen in a Mercedes‑Benz to date.

The new GLC uses the fourth MBUX generation, which is the world’s first in-car infotainment system to integrate AI from both Microsoft and Google.

By selecting the best source for each task, even within the same conversation, it uses combined knowledge collected from across the internet.

The standard panoramic roof make the interior appear open and elegant.

As an option, the Sky Control panoramic roof is available with switchable glass and ambient lighting that illuminates 162 stars in the night sky.

High-quality materials ensure first-class haptics and elegance – including animal-free options.

Here, Mercedes‑Benz sets a new standard in the use of vegan materials with the optional Vegan Package.

This sumptuous suite of interior soft-touch materials is certified by The Vegan Society.

It makes Mercedes‑Benz the first car manufacturer worldwide to offer an independently certified vegan interior.

The new GLC with EQ Technology has a wheelbase that’s 84mm longer compared to the combustion GLC, and the result is 13mm more legroom and 46mm more headroom up front, while rear passengers benefit from 47mm more legroom and 17mm more headroom.

The boot provides a generous 570 litres and, when the rear seats are folded down, it expands to 1,740 litres.

Additionally, the frunk (front trunk) contributes an extra 128 litres.

The GLC 400 4Matic features Terrain Mode as a driving programme for field or gravel roads, adjusting the characteristics of the drive, steering and brakes.

The “transparent bonnet” function enables a virtual view under the front of the vehicle by combining images from the front camera and the exterior mirror cameras.

The GLC has a new One-Box braking system that provides a steady, assured brake pedal feel, whether braking is achieved through energy recovery or conventional friction braking.

The recuperation performance is up to 300kW and significantly contributes to increasing range.

Drivers have four recuperation levels available: D- (maximum recuperation level), D (standard recuperation), D+ (no recuperation) and D Auto (intelligent recuperation).

The Agility and Comfort Package includes Airmatic air suspension combined with rear-axle steering, which enables a steering angle of up to 4.5 degrees in either direction.

Also, the new GLC features the next generation of Digital Light with micro-LED technology.

The high-resolution lighting field is significantly bigger than before and enables more brightness for high beam and road projections.

At the same time, the energy consumption of the lighting module is 50% less than its predecessor.

The Ultra Range high beam no longer just shines rigidly forwards. Instead, it is incorporated into the cornering light and swivels dynamically with it.

Every model is equipped with an extensive sensor set using up to 10 external cameras, five radar sensors and 12 ultrasonic sensors.
