STUTTGART: The new 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLS delivers more power and greater refinement, and a revised engine range gives noticeably greater agility, while preserving exceptional NVH (noise, vibration, harshness) comfort.
The top-of-the-range GLS 580 4Matic V8-powered model is now also noticeably more agile.
The V8's rated output has increased from 380 to 395kW (517PS to 537PS) and the maximum torque of 750Nm (previously 730Nm) is available across a wide range from 2,500 to 4,500rpm.
There are outstanding driving comfort and maximum agility, courtesy of E‑Active Body Control which is one of the most intelligent SUV (sport utility vehicle) suspension systems on the market.
The control units analyse the driving situation 1,000 times per second, and adapt the suspension accordingly.

Over longer artificial speed bumps, the GLS glides effortlessly, as if it’s floating on air.
Thanks to the new cloud-based damper regulation with Airmatic, the vehicle automatically adjusts the damping just before encountering a bump.
Advanced computing and an extensive sensor suite – 10 cameras and up to five radar sensors and 12 ultrasonic sensors ensure the highest level of safety and assistance.
Meanwhile, MB.OS (Mercedes-Benz Operating System) integrates and controls every aspect of the vehicle.
This supercomputer uses AI and powerful chips and is connected to the Mercedes‑Benz Intelligent Cloud.
This allows for over-the-air updates enabling the GLS to remain up to date and attractive for many years.
As standard, the MBUX Superscreen stretches across the cockpit as a single glass surface, creating a harmonious stage for three 12.3-inch displays.

There are more entertainment and productivity in the rear, with two elegant 11.6-inch displays and an array of smart features.
The latest removable MBUX remote controls give passengers intuitive, fingertip access to vehicle functions and their personalised entertainment world.
Also, the MBUX Virtual Assistant can conduct complex multi-part dialogues, with expressive avatars creating more personal interaction.
Proudly upright and, in selected markets, beautifully illuminated, the newly added standing Mercedes‑Benz star on the bonnet lends the GLS a distinctive new face.
The new front bumper ensures greater visual presence, while the headlamps and taillights in star design make the GLS instantly recognisable.

The latest Digital Light generation – fitted as standard on the GLS – produces a high‑resolution light field that’s around 40 per cent larger.
The light module consumes up to 50 per cent less energy than its predecessor.
New design elements and comfort features elevate the interior, while the steering wheel adopts the much-loved “rocker-and-roller” control concept.
With its warm “Beech Brown” hue, the interior gains a colour that evokes a sense of home and comfort.
The new GLS offers three fully electrically adjustable seat rows.
Even in the third row, occupants up to 1.94-metre tall can relax.
