PARIS: XPeng has revealed its flagship G9L global premium large SUV (sport utility vehicle) at the 2026 Paris Motor Show.
The G9L is billed as bringing together intelligent driving, advanced safety, flagship comfort and long-distance capability.
The G9L combines active prevention, passive protection and system redundancy, including nine airbags as standard, automatic emergency braking at speeds of up to 150kph and stability support following a tyre blowout.
It has undergone three years of testing across 26 countries and regions, covering more than 6.74 million kilometres.
Beyond safety, the G9L combines a sophisticated chassis with two seating layouts: six‑seater and seven‑seater.

EV (electric vehicle) variants offer up to 591km of WLTP range, while an 800V architecture and 5C charging technology enable 10% to 80% charging in as little as 12 minutes.
Pricing and specifications for Australia and New Zealand, along with launch timing, will be confirmed in the coming months.
The XPeng G9L will join XPeng G6, XPeng X9, and XPeng L03 in Australian showrooms.
The G9L features XPeng’s next-generation NGP intelligent driving technology, powered by the second-generation VLA model and a high-computing-power AI architecture.
Rather than being designed primarily around highway assistance, XPeng NGP is developed to understand and respond to a broader range of real-world driving environments, including city and highway scenarios.

The G9L also introduces XPeng’s Kunpeng Super Electric REEV (range-extended electric vehicle) technology — combining a large battery, fast charging, efficient electric drive and intelligent energy management.
Unlike a conventional PHEV (plug-in hybrid) or range-extender, or hybrid systems built around a relatively small battery, XPeng’s Super Electric REEV is designed to make electric driving the primary experience, with the range extender providing long-distance flexibility when required.
The REEV version features a 63kWh LFP battery.
The range extender is used to generate electricity, not mechanically drive the wheels.
The G9L remains electric-motor-driven in all conditions.

The REEV system can intelligently coordinate the battery, electric motor and range extender according to driving conditions.
The REEV version offers a 1.5-litre turbocharged range-extender engine and deep Atkinson-cycle combustion technology, and 370kW (503PS) and 695Nm of torque.
A pure EV version of XPeng G9L will also be offered, with up to 430kW (585PS) of power and 695Nm of torque.
A 110kWh battery allows for WLTP range of up to 553km, and a peak DC charge speed of 540kW supports a 10-80% recharge in less than 12 minutes on a suitable charger.
The G9L combines a double-wishbone front suspension, H-arm multi-link rear suspension, dual-chamber air suspension, Continuous Damping Control (CDC) and rear-wheel steering to deliver the ride comfort, stability and manoeuvrability expected from a large premium SUV.
Additional premium features include a 26-speaker premium audio system and integrated vehicle refrigerator.
