PARIS: The 2027 Mazda MX-5 in Europe receives a series of carefully crafted refinements that enhance its sporty character, timeless Kodo design and driver engagement.
The MX-5 benefits from powertrain updates that slightly enhance both performance and efficiency.
The naturally aspirated 1.5-litre Skyactiv-G engine now delivers 136PS and 155Nm of torque, while WLTP combined fuel consumption improves to 6.1 litres per 100km.
Further improvements to the engine’s acoustics reinforce the MX-5’s agile and responsive driving feel that has defined the roadster for more than three decades.
For the first time, Driver Attention Alert (DAA) is standard across all grades.

Production for the 2027 MX-5 begins in May 2026 for left-hand-drive models and September 2026 for right-hand-drive models, with vehicles arriving in European markets from September 2026 onwards.
For 2027, the iconic roadster evolves with more distinctive personalities, including the craftsmanship-focused Kazari version, the sporty Homura grade and the newly introduced Yakudo special version for the Soft Top model.
Taking its name from the Japanese expression for dynamic movement and vitality, the Yakudo special version expands the MX-5 range with a contemporary interpretation of the model through silver exterior accents, silver Brembo brake callipers and a high-quality Alcantara interior.
The Homura grade now further strengthens the MX-5’s sporty character through black 16-inch RAYS alloy wheels, red Brembo brakes and tuned Bilstein dampers including a front strut bar, reinforcing the roadster’s agile and connected driving feel.

A new exterior colour, Zinc Green, will expand the MX-5 palette across all grades, entering production from October and reaching markets in early 2027.
Also being introduced on the 2027 Mazda CX-30 from October production, the new metallic green was developed to convey both toughness and sophistication, combining an industrial-inspired character with elegance.
