2027 Mercedes-Benz C 400 4Matic electric: Up to 753km (WLTP), 490PS/800Nm

SYDNEY: The all-new Mercedes-Benz C 400 4Matic electric is expected to arrive in Australian showrooms in early 2027.

Its dual-motor electric drivetrain delivers up to 360kW (490PS) and 800Nm, with 4Matic all-wheel drive intelligently distributing power between the front and rear axles to provide confident traction.

The 0–100kph sprint is covered in just 4.0 seconds.

A 94kWh usable lithium-ion battery provides a driving range of up to 753km (WLTP) while the 800-volt electrical architecture supports DC fast charging at up to 330kW.

When connected to a DC charging station, up to 325km (WLTP) of range can be added in 10 minutes.

A two-speed transmission on the rear axle combines high efficiency with strong performance.

The rear luggage compartment provides 470 litres of capacity, complemented by a generous 101-litre front boot, or frunk.

The C-Class electric’s low, powerful front-end flows into a sleek coupé-like silhouette and athletic GT-style rear.

At the front, the Mercedes-Benz grille combines a wide chrome frame with a smoked glass-look panel featuring 1,050 illuminated dots, an integrated central star and an illuminated surround.

Animated lighting sequences bring the grille to life when the vehicle is unlocked, locked or charging.

The advanced Digital Light headlamp system uses micro-LED technology to deliver a high-resolution illumination field approximately 40 per cent larger than the previous generation, while consuming up to 50 per cent less energy.

Its adaptive high-beam technology provides improved visibility without dazzling other road users, while intelligent cornering lights use camera and map information to illuminate bends more precisely.

Inside, the AMG Line continues the sporting theme with a multifunction sports steering wheel wrapped in Artico man-made leather, AMG floor mats and a black fabric roof lining.

Heat and noise-insulating acoustic glass contributes to a quieter cabin.

The latest Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS) brings infotainment, navigation, charging, driving assistance and comfort functions together under a single, intelligent ecosystem.

Connected to the Mercedes-Benz Intelligent Cloud, the system supports regular over-the-air software updates, allowing vehicle functions to be improved and new features introduced without requiring a workshop visit.

MB.OS also powers the fourth generation of MBUX, introducing a more intuitive and personalised digital experience.

Its AI-powered MBUX Virtual Assistant combines technology from ChatGPT, Microsoft Bing and Google Gemini to understand natural speech, respond to complex questions and maintain multi-part conversations.

The navigation is based on Google Maps and works alongside Mercedes-Benz Navigation with Electric Intelligence, which calculates routes and charging stops using factors such as battery charge, traffic conditions and driving style.

The all-new C-Class electric features the MBUX Superscreen as standard, which brings together three displays beneath a sweeping, continuous glass surface spanning the dashboard.

These include a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 14-inch central touchscreen and a dedicated 14-inch front-passenger display, creating an immersive digital environment while keeping essential driving information clearly in view.

The Burmester 3D surround sound system delivers rich, immersive audio, complemented by Ambient Lighting Plus.

The Sky Control panoramic roof brings an eye-catching new dimension to the C-Class cabin, combining an expansive glass surface with greater control over natural light and interior comfort.

Rather than operating as one continuous dimmable panel, the roof is divided into nine electrically adjustable segments, allowing occupants to individually adjust the transparency of different sections.

The C 400 4Matic electric comes standard with MB.DRIVE driving and parking assistance systems.

These include Distance Assist Distronic to help maintain a set distance from vehicles ahead, Blind Spot Assist Plus to monitor surrounding traffic, lane-keeping function, speed-limit warnings and Traffic Sign Assist.

Brake Assist and evasive steering assistance provide additional support in potentially hazardous situations, while exit warnings can alert occupants to approaching traffic when opening a door.

For added convenience, MB.Drive Parking Assist 360 combines Parktronic parking sensors, automated parking assistance and a 360-degree camera system.
