IPOH: Bulk transport total solution provider Syarikat Jasa Selamat recently expanded their fleet with 22 new Scania Super G460 cement tanker trucks.
Syarikat Jasa Selamat managing director Yew Choo Kein received the new trucks from Scania Southeast Asia managing director Joyce Antar at a handover ceremony.
“Our decision to invest in Scania trucks was driven by the need to improve fuel efficiency while maintaining the performance required for demanding transport operations. Having experienced Scania trucks in our fleet before, we are familiar with their performance and reliability," said Syarikat Jasa Selamat director Yew Ze Hao.
"With the Super powertrain, we see an opportunity to further improve fuel efficiency while benefiting from the strong pulling power we need. We believe this will help us better manage operating costs while continuing to deliver the performance our operations demand,” added Yew.
The Scania Super G460 trucks delivers the highest torque at the lowest RPM in the industry, producing 2,500Nm of torque from just 900rpm.
This provides fuel savings of up to 8% without compromising on performance and reliability.
The trucks also come standard with Side Curtain Airbags and Steering Wheel Airbag, along with Electronic Brake System (EBS) with Anti Lock Braking System (ABS) and Traction Control (TC), providing enhanced safety for Syarikat Jasa Selamat’s drivers on the road.

Recognising the importance of efficiently managing a large fleet, the purchase includes Scania’s Fleet Management System Control Package, which provides Syarikat Jasa Selamat with access to valuable insights and information about its fleet through the My Scania portal and Scania Fleet app.
These digital tools offer essential data such as real-time positioning, vehicle performance monitoring, environmental reporting to track carbon dioxide emissions, service planning, defect reporting, and driver evaluation.
This enables Syarikat Jasa Selamat to quickly identify opportunities for improvement and make better informed operational decisions across its growing fleet.
Their drivers will also gain access to the My Scania digital ecosystem through the Scania Driver app, enabling them to submit pre-departure checks, view essential vehicle data, monitor their driving time and performance, view service bookings, and easily locate the nearest Scania workshop.
