SHAH ALAM: Edaran Modenas Sdn Bhd (Emos), the subsidiary of Motosikal dan Enjin Nasional Sdn Bhd (Modenas) announced the distribution of its limited-edition Z-Anniversary Box (Z-Box) in conjunction with the 50 years milestone of the Kawasaki Z-series.
Emos will be distributing the limited-edition Z-Box to 300 of its new Modenas Z250 owners where each box will contain a Z Chronicles Book, Z T-shirt and Kawasaki Head Buff Bandana.
The Z-Chronicles book tells of how Kawasaki stunned the motorcycle world with the release of the Kawasaki 900 Super4 in 1972.
Nicknamed the Z1, the bike had the first in-line four in its class with DOHC, and an unheard displacement of 903cc and featured many of Kawasaki’s most advanced technologies.
Being the last letter in the alphabet, Z represents the ultimate and Z models have grown into one of Kawasaki’s core motorcycle models.
Although the shape, style and riding environment have evolved over the years, the models crowned with the Z mark continue to establish themselves as icons of performance.
With the Z1 and its world-conquering performance leading the way, Kawasaki expanded the Z series to meet a variety of needs.
The Z400 was a sporty commuter with the power characteristics riders expected in a Z machine.
In the KZ900LTD, one of the first factory customs, riders could enjoy high performance in high comfort, while the Z500 and Z400FX were middleweight super sport bikes.
Soon, there were models for almost every taste and riding style, providing a wider range of riders with exciting performances for which the Z series was famous.
From 1972 to August 2021, 2,571,000 units were produced worldwide.
