120 cars on parade at Toyota Automobile Museum Classic Car Festival on April 20

NAGAKUTE CITY (Japan): The Toyota Automobile Museum will host its 35th Classic Car Festival on April 20 at Expo 2005 Aichi Commemorative Park in Nagakute City, Aichi.

The community-based event aims to promote and sustain automobile culture.

The festival will feature a variety of events, including a public road parade of around 120 privately owned classic cars from Japan, the United States and Europe, as well as a special exhibition, demo runs, and commemorative photo opportunities with selected vehicles.

The 120 privately owned cars from 1995 or earlier will parade through 14km of public roads in Nagakute City.

The public street parade will start at the museum and finish at the Expo 2005 Aichi Commemorative Park.

The parade will be led by a Toyota 2000GT Roadster.

The theme of the special exhibition is “The Evolution of Japanese Automobile Culture.”

In addition to vehicles from the Museum’s collection, the exhibition will feature vehicles from other Japanese automakers with which Toyota has strengthened ties by co-hosting the first World Forum for Motor Museums in Japan last fall, the first such event in Asia.

In a statement, Toyota says the exhibition and demonstration runs at the festival will transcend differences between manufacturers and brands.

"The festival will not only keep the history of classic cars alive, but will also bring joy to all car lovers, helping to make automobile culture as popular and appreciated as sports and art events," said Toyota.
