All-new GWM Haval H6 hybrid introduced from RM139,800
By JAY WONG | 09 October 2024PETALING JAYA: Great Wall Motor (GWM), the official distributor of Haval vehicles in Malaysia, has launched the Haval H6 Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) that is billed as "China's best-selling SUV."
The China-based carmaker has priced the H6 at RM139,800 (on-the-road without insurance) as a single variant for the hotly contested C-segment sports utility vehicle (SUV) market.
The company is also offering a RM3,000 rebate for early bird buyers from now until Oct 20 for private registrations.
For those who are already an existing GWM vehicle owner, a further RM3,000 rebate will also be provided under the GWM Owners Loyalty Offer.
Additionally, a five-year free maintenance, inclusive of parts and labour, will be provided for those who register a H6 unit in 2024.
For peace of mind, the H6 comes with a seven-year or 200,000km (whichever comes first) full vehicle warranty.
Also included are a one million kilometre warranty for the engine (10 years) and hybrid system (eight years) which applies to first-hand owners with private registration.
The H6 comes with a Star Matrix grille, slim LED headlights, horizontal LED rear lights and dual spoiler-mounted third brake lights.
It gets a wheelbase of 2,738mm, ground clearance of 175mm, length of 4,683mm, width of 1,886mm and height of 1,730mm.
The suspension system used are front MacPherson struts and a rear multi-link.
Powering the H6 is a 1.5-litre turbocharged direct-injected engine cranking out 150PS and 230Nm of torque paired to an electric motor delivering 130PS and 300Nm of torque.
The petrol/electric combined output is rated at 243PS and 530Nm of torque.
The 1,720kg (kerb) SUV can sprint from 0 to 100kph in 7.75 seconds using launch control before reaching a top speed of 175kph.
The front-wheel drive SUV uses a two-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT) and claims a frugal fuel consumption of fuel consumption 5.8 litres per 100km on the combined driving cycle.
Four driving modes of Standard, Sport, Eco and Snow as well as a drive monitoring system and speed alarm are equipped.
Wheels are the 19-inch type with 225/55 series tyres while the front brakes use ventilated discs and the rear gets solid discs.
No spare tyre has been provided although a tyre repair kit is available and is stowed beneath the 560-litre boot (expandable to 1,485 litres) that's accessible via a powered tailgate with kick-sensor.
Also included is a keyless-entry system with a push-start button that provides access to the cabin that's been upholstered in two-tone leather.
Features include a wireless charger, Type-A/C ports, dual-zone climate controls with rear vents, panoramic sunroof, heads-up display, a 10.25-inch instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch infotainment system (with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto) and an eight-speaker sound system.
Front seats are ventilated and power-adjustable with two way lumbar support.
A Boss Switch is also provided to allow the front passenger seat to be conveniently adjusted by other occupants of the vehicle.
For safety, this hybrid SUV comes standard with six airbags, vehicle stability control, traction control, secondary collision mitigation and corner brake control.
Also included are roll-over mitigation, hill descent control, tyre pressure monitoring system, front and rear parking sensors as well as low-speed emergency braking.
There is also a 360-degree camera system with an automatic parking system and adaptive cruise control.
For added safety, the H6 gets Advanced Driver Assist Systems (ADAS) with features such as intelligent cornering system, front collision warning with automatic emergency braking and rear collision warning.
There are also lane departure warning, lane keep assist, lane centering system, lane change assist, blind spot monitoring system, emergency lane keep, traffic sign recognition, rear cross-traffic alert with automatic brake function, traffic jam assist and Wisdom Dodge.
"We believe the Haval H6 HEV will be the ideal option for those seeking a value-for-money SUV," said GWM International vice-president James Yang at the launch.
Yang said the H6 marks a significant step forward for the company and is excited to introduce it with advanced technology to meet the needs of modern drivers.
