All-new Leapmotor B10 EV debuts with promotional pricing from RM99,800

PETALING JAYA: Stellantis Malaysia, the official distributor of Leapmotor in Malaysia, has launched its second electric vehicle, the B10 sports utility vehicle (SUV).

Joining the D-segment C10, the smaller C-segment B10 arrives in two variants, starting with the entry-level Life with an on-the-road price without insurance of RM107,800.

The range-topping Design costs similarly at RM118,800.

From now until further notice, both the Life and Design are offered with promotional prices of RM99,800 and RM109,800 respectively.

For those going for the range-topping Design, all five colour options will be provided, starting with Starry Night Blue and Dawn Purple, which get a Shadow Grey Eco leather interior.

Going with Metallic Black Light White and Tundra Grey means the cabin gets wrapped in Dark Grey Eco Leather.

Opting for the Life variant means the B10 can only be had in either Metallic Black or Light White, and both come with a Dark Grey Fabric interior.

For peace of mind, the B10 is accompanied by a six-year or 150,000km warranty, which is, in fact, a four-year or 100,000km manufacturer's warranty plus an additional two-year or 50,000km full extended warranty.

As for the battery, it gets an eight-year or 160,000km warranty, whichever comes first.

Service intervals are set at once a year or 20,000km, whichever comes first.

Built on the new LEAP3.5 architecture that uses the its latest Cell-to-Chassis (CTC) 2.0+ platform that helps to lower its centre-of-gravity, the B10 is also touted to deliver a class-leading drive that is comfortable, dynamic, and efficient.

With a near 50:50 weight distribution and a torsional stiffness of 36,360Nm per degree, it is said to have helped significantly improve driving dynamics and refinement for this electric vehicle (EV).

With a starting weight of 1,780kg (kerb), the B10 has a 2,735mm wheelbase, while measuring in at 4,515mm in length, 1,885mm in width and 1,655mm in height.

The front boot, or frunk, allows up to 25 litres of storage while the main boot offers 430 litres but is expandable to 1,700 litres.

The electric motor, which powers the rear wheels, provides 160kW (218hp) and 240Nm of torque - allowing it to sprint from 0 to 100kph in eight seconds and onwards to a top speed of 170kph.

Its 56.2kWh Lithium-iron Phosphate battery accepts up to 11kW via an onboard AC charger or up to 140kW of faster DC charging allowing the battery to be charged up from 30% - 80% in less than 20 minutes.

A Vehicle-2-Load Output function is also available and provides up to 3.3kW of output.

On a full charge, the B10's range is a claimed 361km on the more realistic WLTP standard while rolling on 18-inch alloy wheels wearing front 225/50 and rear 235/50 series tyres.

While using all-round disc brakes, the B10 uses front Macpherson and rear multi-link suspension setup, and has a generous ride height of 170mm.

Externally, the B10 comes fitted with LEDs for the automatic headlights with automatic high beam control, daytime runners, fog lights (front and rear), and rear light clusters.

Inside, the minimalist cabin is underscored by the 14.6-inch 2.5K floating centre infotainment touchscreen that powers six speakers, while also providing connectivity options such as Apple Carplay and Android Auto (available via over-the-air update from January 2026).

The infotainment unit also provides online navigation, remote vehicle control functions, vehicle status information, scheduled charging, vehicle location, 4G network, and in-vehicle Wi-fi.

For comfort and convenience, there's power power-adjustable rear view mirror, panoramic sunroof with powered curtain, Bluetooth key, one NFC card, mobile app virtual key, and a single physical key.

Also provided is a driver-side keyless entry system (Bluetooth), keyless start system, remote start system, leatherette-wrapped multi-function steering wheel, six-way manual driver's seat, four-way manually adjustable front passenger seat, and a PM2.5 air filtration system.

On the standard safety front, the B10 gets eight airbags, an automatic door unlocking after collision system, driver seat leave reminder, driver drowsiness attention warning camera system, front view monocular camera, a surround view camera system, a 360-degree camera with dynamic guidelines, a reverse camera system with dynamic guidelines, and parking sensors

Bolstering safety further are Level 2 advanced driver aids, which include adaptive cruise control, lane centreing assist, intelligent speed assist, emergency lane keeping assist, front and rear collision warning, automatic emergency braking system, blind spot detection, lane departure warning, hands-off detection, rear cross traffic alert and braking, advanced driver distraction warning, and traffic jam assist.

Opting for the range-topping Design variant means that the battery gets upsized to 67.1kWh, which can accept a higher 168kW DC charger, and doing so increases its range to 434km (WLTP) while having a higher kerb weight at 1,845kg and no change in its performance figures.

However, the AC charging rate still remains the same at 11kW and will take three hours to bring the battery's state-of-charge from 30% to 80% - unlike the Life variant, which takes two hours and 30 minutes.

In terms of accoutrements, the Design variant gets a few more goodies over the Life variant, such as automatic wipers, a 12-speaker sound system, a through tail lamp that comes with brake light and position, and automatic folding mirrors that can be activated when the car is locked.

There's also a dual-tone leatherette steering wheel, eco leather seat upholstery, six-way powered driver's seat, four-way powered front passenger seat, heating and ventilation function for the front seats, rear cabin air vent, automatic climate controls, ambient lighting system, and a rear window privacy glass.

"The launch of the all-new electric Leapmotor B10 marks a pivotal moment for Stellantis Malaysia, marking our strategic commitment to significantly accelerate the New Energy Vehicle (NEV) segment here in Malaysia and across the wider region," said Stellantis Asean managing director Isaac Yeo.

"Joining the innovative Leapmotor C10, the B10 provides a compelling value proposition that we believe is unmatched in its class, making cutting-edge technology truly accessible while meeting the growing demand for sustainable and technologically advanced mobility options among Malaysian consumers," he concluded.
