SEREMBAN: Former Transport Minister Anthony Loke says the individual he misses most at his former ministry was his driver, whom he referred to as Hazril.

"I have been with him almost every day for the past 21 months.

"Even when I had programmes till late nights, he would be at my house early the following morning," Loke said in a Facebook post on Monday (March 2).

Loke, who is Seremban MP, said Hazril was a reserved but dedicated employee and never once complained about the long hours he had to put in.

"He never once said he was tired. Hazril would always tell me YB, just let me know what time we have to go out," he said.

Loke said he was on many occasions commended by event organisers and media personnel for arriving earlier than scheduled.

"The credit actually has to go to Hazril.

"He was a good planner as he would on a daily basis, check my engagements for the next day.

"He was really good at time management," said Loke.

Reminiscing, Loke said he once surprised Hazril when he decided to sit next to him before they left for an event as his bodyguard was on leave.

"Hazril told me he had never seen a minister seated next to the driver.

"And I told him I never liked to leave the seat next to the driver empty and didn't care much about protocol," he said, adding that he always regarded Hazril as a member of his team.

Loke thanked Hazril for this dedication and expressed hope that his former driver and his wife, who is also an employee at the ministry, would continue to give their best.

"Thank you Hazril, and always be safe on the road," he added.
