Aveta Ranger Max Explorer adventure motorbike debuts at RM7K
By CARSIFU | 23 November 2023PETALING JAYA: The Aveta Ranger Max Explorer, billed as the first adventure cub in Malaysia, retails at RM6,988, excluding insurance and road tax.
The bike comes with a two-year or 20,000km warranty (whichever is first), and is offered in two colours – Sierra Yellow and Forest Green.
Designed for both on-road and off-road riding, the Ranger Max Explorer is powered by a 127cc air-cooled four-stroke SOHC engine with 7.5kW and maximum torque of 10.5Nm, matched to a 4-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT).
Stopping power comes from dual-piston front disc brakes and rear drum brakes.
It features a double T-bone frame which is a patented design, which results in a lightweight but strong frame for exceptional stability and handling.
The bike is marketed as suitable for leisurely road trips and also, taking on unpaved trails to fishing spots and camping sites.
Its high handlebars, low seat height of 760mm, 180mm ground clearance and footpeg placement offer comfort, whether sitting down or standing up.
The Energy Efficient Vehicle (EEV)-rated bike’s large 8.5-litre fuel tank, the first of its size in this category, caters to longer journeys with the long front and dual gas-charged rear shock absorbers soaking up all the bumps for a comfortable ride.
The Ranger Max Explorer has a blend of retro styling and modern elements such as its distinctive round headlamp, unique integrated rear tail and indicator lights, round digital LED speedometer, classic side mirrors, multi-spoke rims and rugged partially-exposed, powder-coated frame.
According to Steven Lim, group managing director, Aveta Malaysia, the introduction of the Ranger Max Explorer was in response to market demand after the success of the Ranger 110 moped, which has sold more than 10,000 units since its launch in 2021.
“We were pleasantly surprised to see the Ranger 110 gain a cult following with so many avid bikers customising and transforming the moped to suit their needs."
"We believe the new Ranger Max Explorer, with its more powerful engine and better features, is an even better bike for outdoor pursuits that many Malaysians have taken to after the pandemic. As a brand, we are pivoting from being just another supplier of daily use bikes. We want Aveta to be synonymous with unique lifestyle bikes that redefine boundaries and offer endless adventure and fun at affordable price points,” he said.
Aveta is also investing in boosting its sales and aftersales support network.
The company has concurrently launched the Aveta Care on Wheels programme comprising a pick-up truck and three bikes to attend to customers in Peninsular Malaysia.
It is also collaborating with motorcycle workshops to set up 30 Aveta Authorised Service Corners in the country by end-2024.
In addition, 10 spare parts stockists will also be appointed in Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak.
Aveta will be launching a three-month “Time to Explore” campaign from 1 January 2024 to encourage Ranger Max Explorer customers to explore and share their adventures with the bikes along with the hashtags #Aveta #TimetoExplore #RangerMaxExplore.
The top 20 winners will be rewarded with a 2-day 1-night convoy and camping trip.
Sales of the Aveta Ranger Max Explorer adventure cub will officially commence on Dec 11, 2023.
The first 500 customers will receive an exclusive T-shirt.
Aveta, part of MAG Group, has been focusing on the manufacture, assembly, and distribution of Aveta branded motorcycles in Malaysia since its establishment in 2018.
