Better safety with new Michelin Primacy SUV tyre

KUALA LUMPUR: The new Michelin Primacy SUV (sport utility vehicle) tyre was developed for Asia Pacific’s extreme road and weather conditions, in order to offer better safety.

“SUVs are larger, more robust vehicles, and they offer better visibility and more space. But they can at times be more difficult to handle and to stop, especially on wet roads," said Michelin Malaysia managing director Chandan Thakur.

"The Primacy SUV tyre can offer drivers a safer, smoother ride. Thanks to Michelin Total Performance, this is achieved without compromising other tyre performance characteristics such as tread life and fuel consumption,” added Chandan.

The new tyre offers significant safety improvements including a 2.2-metre shorter braking distance on wet roads, 6% improved grip in wet cornering and a 1.9-metre shorter braking in dry conditions.

“We have listened to SUV drivers in our region. Enabling safer transportation has always been a leading principle in our product development," said Chandan.

"Many drivers are not aware that when you’re driving, there’s the equivalent of only a postcard of tread connecting each of your tyres to the road and controlling thousands of kilograms of machinery at great speed in all kinds of conditions."

The new Primacy SUV tyre is offered in 16-inch and above sizes, at Tyreplus and Michelin authorised dealers.

It is priced starting from RM440.
