PETALING JAYA: Boustead Petroleum Marketing Sdn Bhd (BHPetrol) announced that a number of its lubricants have officially attained the Sirim Genuine Product Licensing Certification from Sirim QAS International.
Around 30 products between the brand's SynGard (passenger car motor oils), Trans (commercial vehicle and diesel engine oils) and Dash (motorcycle oils) lineup will feature the certification sticker on their bottles by Oct 7.
The move was done in response to the Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Ministry's upcoming label requirement for engine oil goods.

Action will be taken on products supplied without the Sirim certification once the government's enforcement goes into effect.
A light green coloured Sirim QR code sticker will be affixed to newly manufactured and packed lubricants to indicate their compliance.
Existing stocks already in storage will instead be given a light pink equivalent sticker which will be distributed by BHPetrol to business partners.
BHPetrol said the rollout of the stickers will take place in phases.

The company ensured that they would continuously provide updates to their partners, customers, and the ministry department to ensure full transparency and compliance with Sirim QAS International's genuine product labelling requirements.
The announcement ceremony was attended by BHPetrol chief executive officer (CEO) Azizul Azily Ahmad who was awarded the license by Sirim QAS International's CEO Md Adha Rahmat. Overseeing the handover was Boustead group CEO Datuk Ahmad Sabirin Arshad.
