BMW and Gentari set up EV charging facilities in The Exchange TRX


KUALA LUMPUR: BMW Group Malaysia, in partnership with Gentari Sdn Bhd (Gentari) through its subsidiary Gentari Green Mobility Sdn Bhd, activated new EV charging facilities in The Exchange TRX.

Located at the basement of the country’s new leading lifestyle complex, the new EV charging facilities boast a combined 13 units of 22kWh AC chargers.

Five charging units will be available at the Premium Parking level, with the remaining eight units housed at Level B1.

They are accessible from 10am–10pm daily with charging rates priced at RM0.25 per minute.

BMW Group Malaysia managing director Benjamin Nagel said the growth of Malaysia's reception of electromobility, especially in the most populated areas of the country, has been thriving.

"To this end it is more vital than ever to ensure robust EV charging infrastructure is in place to accommodate this heartening maturation," he said.

Gentari Deputy CEO and Gentari Green Mobility CEO Shah Yang Razalli said their continued collaboration with BMW Malaysia in supporting Malaysia’s energy transition journey is meaningful.

"This effort underscores our commitment in advancing the growth of green mobility and energy transition within the nation.

"Having deployed over 335 EV charging points with over 100 DC fast chargers nationwide, Gentari proudly operates the largest DC charging network aimed at enhancing accessibility to low carbon transportation options across the country," he said.

Meanwhile, Project Director at The Exchange TRX and Lendlease Malaysia head of retail Mitch Wilson said the EV charging initiative solidifies The Exchange TRX’s position as a forward-thinking hub for green mobility in Kuala Lumpur.
