MUNICH: BMW has streamlined its XM line-up to just two variants from three previously.
The flagship XM Label, the only model featuring an electrified V8, joins the unchanged XM 50e, which pairs a six-cylinder petrol unit with hybrid assistance.
To heighten exclusivity, BMW Individual now offers a Frozen Tanzanite Blue metallic finish for the XM Label, complemented by a high-gloss black M kidney grille and a new Welcome Light Animation.
Wheel options have been upgraded: standard 22-inch Double-spoke style 922 M bicolour alloys replace the previous 21-inch set, while 23-inch M style 1096 M wheels in black are newly available.
Inside, customers can specify BMW Individual Night Blue Merino leather with exclusive trim, or opt for Black Merino with Vintage Coffee Brown accents, or Silverstone Merino with complementary black surfaces.
All Merino-leather seats now include high-quality comfort cushions as standard. Charging capability has also improved: the Combined Charging Unit now supports AC charging at up to 11 kW, up from 7.4kW previously.
Powertrain specs remained the same as before.
The XM Label’s powertrain combines a 430kW/585hp V8 and a 145 kW/197hp electric motor integrated into its eight-speed M Steptronic gearbox, delivering a total system output of 550kW/748hp and 1,000Nm of torque.
It accelerates from 0-100kph in 3.8 seconds and is electronically limited to 250kph, or 290kph with the optional M Driver’s Package. Its maximum electric-only range is 76km, while the XM 50e offers 80–86 km of pure-electric driving.
The XM Label debuts on tomorrow at the 24 Hours of Le Mans as BMW M Motorsport contests the FIA World Endurance Championship with its M Hybrid V8.
German pricing for the XM Label starts at €183,400 (RM897,000), with the XM 50e from €133,800 (RM655,000).
