Priced at RM85,500 on-the-road, without insurance, and with BMW Motorrad Malaysia’s all-new 3-Year Warranty and 3-Year Roadside Assistance programmes, the rugged motorcycle now features ABS Pro and Dynamic Traction Control (DTC) as standard, for even more braking and accelerating safety.
The F 850 GS “40 Years GS Edition” will be exclusively available in the striking Black Storm Metallic exterior colour offering with yellow design elements and will only be available in 2021 with limited units in transit.
Among its other unique characteristics are gold-anodised rims, striking yellow handguards, GS radiator cover design, black fixed fork tubes and "40 Years GS" designations on its fairing side panel.
Its LED headlight comes with Daytime Riding Light as standard, complemented with LED flashing turn indicators.
Powering the motorcycle is a 853cc liquid-cooled, 4-valve, 2-cylinder engine with fuel injection pushing out 70kW/95hp at 8,250rpm, along with a peak torque of 92Nm at 6,250rpm mated to a six-speed gearbox.
The engine is also equipped with two counterbalance shafts that delivering smoothness, spontaneous response characteristics, impressive pulling power and low fuel consumption.
The anniversary variant also gets Dynamic Electronic Suspension Adjustment, Dynamic Engine Brake Control and Shift Assistant Pro, as well as four riding modes that can be accessed via the right handlebar controls.
The large 6.5-inch TFT screen instrument panel offers optimum visibility even in difficult lighting conditions and has smart connectivity function.
Other equipment includes cruise control, navigation preparation for GPS devices, Keyless Ride and tyre pressure monitoring system.
