KUALA LUMPUR: BMW Group Malaysia has launched ENvision.NEXT, an initiative focusing on art, innovation, sustainability, and responsibility by inviting local artists to design creative works for BMW’s Retail.NEXT dealerships.
The project aims to combine form and function without deviating from BMW's values of sustainability and innovation.
The first phase of the initiative, at Auto Bavaria Balakong, invited artists to pitch creative concepts for the dealership.
The winning design, titled "Resonance of Progress" by waste art sculptor William Koong, was awarded RM30,000. The solar-powered sound sculpture was an effort to show the relationship between the dealership and its surroundings.
Auto Bavaria Balakong dealer principal Andy Tian, said he was delighted to host the first ENvision.NEXT project, which is expected to turn the dealership into a collaborative space showcasing local creativity.
Judges for the competition included well-known figures from the Malaysian art and architecture scene, such as Shawn Leishman, Suzy Sulaiman, and Christina Lee.
They praised BMW's role in supporting local creativity and fostering new platforms for artistic expression.
BMW plans to expand ENvision.NEXT into an annual competition, inviting new talents to contribute innovative and sustainable artworks for future dealerships.
