BMW Motorrad Malaysia unveils new F 900 XR: RM83K

SEPANG: BMW Motorrad Malaysia introduces the new F 900 XR, which features several technical and visual upgrades, alongside a significantly extended standard equipment for the long-distance sports bike in the mid-range segment.

The retail price (on the road, with BMW Motorrad Malaysia's 3-year warranty and 3-year roadside assistance programmes, without insurance) is RM82,500.

With the Financing Plan from BMW Group Financial Services Malaysia, ownership of the F 900 XR starts from RM1,158 per month (based on the Straight Line Financing estimates of an 90% loan on a 7-year tenure).

Owners can also enjoy additional benefits with the Premium Engine Oil Inclusive, Service Inclusive, and Warranty Extension Programmes by BMW Motorrad Malaysia.

BMW Group Malaysia managing director Benjamin Nagel said, “The New BMW F 900 XR delivers the perfect balance of performance and versatility for those seeking dynamic handling and long-distance comfort."

The new BMW F 900 XR features a new torsionally rigid, upside-down telescopic fork with a slider tube diameter of 43mm, which guides the front wheel.

Both rebound and compression damping, as well as spring preload are now adjustable.

The new, 17-inch cast aluminium wheels weigh 1.8kg less compared to the predecessor, which in combination with 0.8kg lighter battery, contributes to an overall weight reduction of 3kg.

There are also optimised aerodynamics for the front fairing, a redesigned wind deflector and hand protectors.

For greater visibility and safety, Headlight Pro is standard, while the rear has been redesigned with new function-integrated turn indicator lights.

Other new standard features include a USB-C port and the heated grips.

At the heart is a 895cc, water-cooled, 2-cylinder, four-stroke inline engine, which delivers 105hp (77kW) at 7,500rpm and 93Nm of torque at 6,750rpm mated to a 6-speed constant-mesh transmission.

The new F 900 XR achieves 0-100kph in just 3.6 seconds, onwards to a top speed of over 200kph.

Meanwhile, the Dynamic Brake Control (DBC) offers added control by preventing unintentional acceleration during braking, while BMW Motorrad ABS Pro ensures safety around bends by enabling ABS-assisted braking at lean angles.

This, in combination with the Dynamic ESA, delivers a whole new feeling of safety while riding.

Additionally, the Gear Shift Assistant Pro allows for smooth, clutch-less shifting.

Last but not least, Tyre Pressure Control (TPC) monitors tyre pressure and alerts the rider as needed.

Other features include Keyless Ride that allows riders to unlock the ignition and start the bike, simply by carrying the key fob.

Meanwhile, the Cruise Control system adds a new level of comfort for long-distance touring.

By maintaining a constant speed, it reduces the need for manual throttle adjustments.

A case holder at the rear allows for convenient attachment of luggage for touring.
