KUALA LUMPUR: At the Malaysia Autoshow 2025, BMW Group Malaysia presented the new R 1300 GS Adventure, billed as the most refined and capable GS ever built.
It is said to set a new benchmark for large adventure motorcycles, redefining the adventure touring experience.
Available in four variants, estimated prices are RM150,000 for the Racing Red, Triple Black and Style GS Trophy (RM155,000) and Option 719 Karakorum (RM165,000).
BMW Group Malaysia managing director Benjamin Nagel said, “The new BMW R 1300 GS Adventure ensures that no destination is too far, with every enhancement focused on delivering an exceptionally smooth and comfortable ride."
The twin-cylinder boxer engine is once again at the heart of the new R 1300 GS Adventure.
The new design is much more compact than its predecessor.
It generates 107kW (145hp) from 1,300cc at 7,750rpm, while maximum torque is 149Nm at 6,500rpm, making it by far the most powerful BMW boxer engine ever to be produced in series.
Complementing the boxer engine is the BMW ShiftCam technology for optimal performance and fuel efficiency, while offering superior torque across the full rev range.
The new 30-litre aluminium fuel tank offers substantial range for long-distance tours.
As part of the standard Dynamic Package, Riding Modes Pro is equipped on the R 1300 GS Adventure, which in addition to “Rain” and “Road” for adaptation to road conditions, “Eco” for efficiency and “Enduro” for off-road adventures, further comprises the additional riding modes “Dynamic”, “Dynamic Pro” and “Enduro Pro”.
Sports brake is also standard equipment.
Also part of the Dynamic Package is the Automated Shift Assistant (ASA), allowing for the automation of the clutch and gear shift.
The ASA is available as standard for the R 1300 GS Adventure in Style GS Trophy, Triple Black and Option 719 “Karakorum”, while the Racing Red variant features the Shift Assistant Pro as standard.
The Touring Package is also standard across all variants, which consists of the main stand, chrome-plated manifold, navigation device preparation, electrically adjustable windshield, top case holder and case holders for aluminium cases to enhance the long-distance touring experience.
Meanwhile, the chassis has been completely redesigned to improve stability and handling precision.
The new Dynamic Suspension Adjustment (DSA), ensures optimum comfort, performance, and safety.
Adaptive vehicle height control, as well as comfort rider and passenger seats are standard.
There are Matrix LED headlights for optimal visibility in all conditions.
With the Headlight Pro as standard, the headlights dynamically adjust, ensuring better road safety.
Complementing this are two extra-flat auxiliary headlamps with LED technology.
Further ensuring safety are Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Engine drag torque control (MSR), Dynamic Brake Control (DBC) and Hill Start Control (HSC).
Full Integral ABS Pro is also standard equipment, offering smooth, responsive braking.
Additionally, the standard Riding Assistant further includes Active Cruise Control (ACC), Front Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Change Warning, and Rear End Collision Warning (RECW) features.
As for connectivity, the R 1300 GS Adventure features a 6.5-inch full-colour TFT display, offering vibrant, real-time information such as speed, fuel levels, riding modes, and more.
An additional Sport screen is available, allowing for the display of additional information on lean angle, traction and braking behaviour.
In addition, the BMW Motorrad Connected app integrates with the display, enabling riders to access vehicle status, navigation, and performance data via their smartphones.
Other standard equipment include heated grips, Keyless Ride, and a smartphone charging compartment with an integrated USB socket and 12V on-board power socket.
