MUNICH: BMW plans a comprehensive update to its internal combustion engine (ICE) lineup to modernise these models and align them technologically with the forthcoming Neue Klasse electric vehicles.
According to UK publication Autocar, the 5 Series will be the first to receive substantial design and technology enhancements in line with the Neue Klasse look that was originally meant only for BMW's electric cars.
After the 5 Series, it would the turn for the X5, 2 Series, X2, 7 Series and X7 to be revamped, Autocar reported, adding that the changes would happen within 3-1/2 years.

The Neue Klassse.
These updates include advanced infotainment systems and driver assistance technologies, aimed at delivering a seamless and cohesive experience across BMW’s vehicle range, regardless of powertrain.
Each model, while sporting the Neue Klasse identity, would still have unique traits that helped to differentiate it from other BMW models.
Like Toyota and Honda, BMW is hedging its bets by offering a variety of powertrain options to meet diverse customer preferences and regional needs.
