The locally assembled SUV (or SAV as BMW likes to call it) is priced at RM259,800. The price (on the road, without insurance) includes extended warranty and service package, as well as sales and service tax.
The new third-generation X1 features a powerful stance, complemented by a spacious interior – thanks to the new SAV’s larger dimensions.
The interior comes with BMW Curved Display and BMW Live Cockpit Plus, powered by the BMW Operating System 8.
The front-wheel drive X1 is powered by a two-litre, four-cylinder Twin Power Turbo engine producing 204hp/300Nm, which enables the car to sprint from 0-100kph in 7.6s and onwards to a top speed of 236kph.
Relaying power to the front wheels is a 7-speed Steptronic dual clutch sport transmission. Comfort-tuned suspension in the new SAV promises a relaxing journey for the driver and passengers onboard.
Official combined fuel consumption is rated at 7.2 litres/100km and combined carbon emissions of 158g/km.
The new X1 variant has a large kidney grille with pearl chrome frame and glossy black slats, and lines that extend outward in the shape of an X.
It features slender wraparound adaptive LED headlights and new daytime running lights, flared square wheel arches, 19-inch light alloy wheels, matte aluminium underride protection panel, xLine bumpers, silver mirror covers, and door sill panels with BMW designation.
The vehicle is available in a choice of five colours: Black Sapphire, Alpine White, Cape York Green, Phytonic Blue and Space Silver.
The interior highlights a modern, driver-oriented BMW Curved Display with a 10.25-inch instrument cluster and 10.7-inch centre touchscreen.
The digital BMW Live Cockpit Plus includes navigation, the BMW Operating System 8, connectivity and wireless charging.
The floating armrest eliminates the centre tunnel, freeing up space for storage in the centre console.
Active assistance systems include Driving and Parking Assistants, Hill Start Assist, Speed Limiter, Attentiveness Assistant, Lane Departure Warning with active steering intervention, Front Collision and Left Turn Warnings, and Evasion Assistant.
Customers can enjoy a cash rebate of RM10,000 until Oct 31 when financing the X1 sDrive20i xLine with the Easy Drive Financing Plan from BMW Group Financial Services Malaysia.
