KUALA LUMPUR: The new BMW X5 xDrive40i M Sport has been unveiled by BMW Group Malaysia, and is priced on the road, without insurance at RM469,800.
The price tag comes to RM508,200 with BMW Service & Repair Inclusive (consists of the five-year extended warranty and service package).
With the Easy Drive Financing from BMW Group Financial Services Malaysia, it can be owned with a monthly instalment starting from RM5,695.
The monthly instalments are based on 80% loan on a five-year tenure with a rebate of RM8,000, as well as free replacement car programme and BMW first-year comprehensive motor insurance rebate of RM5,000.
Meanwhile, with the Straight-Line Financing, customers can own the new X5 xDrive40i M Sport at a monthly instalment plan starting from RM5,543.
The monthly instalments are based on estimates of an 80% loan on a seven-year tenure.
Customers can also enjoy BMW Protection+ Insurance and Replacement Car Programme when financing with BMW Easy Drive.
BMW Protection+ offers comprehensive coverage accidental death or permanent disability benefits, vehicle break-in coverage, hire purchase loan repayment protection, and guaranteed asset protection (GAP).
Additional benefits include key care, special relief in case of total loss or theft, rim damage coverage, compassionate flood cover, and scratch and dent protection.
The new X5 xDrive40i M Sport marks the debut of an all-new mild hybrid variant to the BMW X5 line-up in Malaysia.
The latest variant offers a completely modernised front and rear sections and revised interior ambience, and an enhanced new generation of the iconic BMW six-cylinder in-line engine.
In combination with a 48V mild-hybrid system, the 3.0-litre unit produces 280kW (381hp) and 540Nm of torque – an output increase of 35kW (47hp) and 70Nm of torque, compared to the predecessor.
Paired with an 8-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system, the new X5 xDrive40i M Sport sprints from 0 to 100kph in just 5.4 seconds, onwards to a maximum speed of 250kph.
Its dynamic handling is enhanced by its double wishbone front suspension, five-link rear suspension, and Dynamic Damper Control.
For added comfort, the self-levelling 2-axle air suspension lowers the body by 20mm in Sport mode at speeds of 138kph, while off-road, it raises by up to 40mm.
The height can also be lowered by 40mm at the touch of a button for easy loading.
From the front, the new X5 xDrive40i M Sport has been substantially redesigned, with a new three-dimensional BMW Iconic Glow kidney grille.
This is paired with redesigned high-beam assistant enhanced Adaptive LED headlights that have been slimmed down by 35mm.
Meanwhile, the signature daytime running lights take on a bold X-shaped design.
A newly sculpted front apron with triangular air intakes and vertically arranged air curtains completes the commanding look.
From the side, there are 21-inch M light alloy wheels with a V-Spoke design, which are paired with M Sport brakes.
Moving onto the rear, slender, three-dimensional taillights with stylised X design and an updated rear apron design add to its sporty aesthetic.
Overall, the standard M Sport package brings a sportier touch.
Other standard exterior features are the Exterior Line and roof rail in Satin Aluminium, fine-wood trim in Fineline Black with high-gloss metal effect and extended exterior mirror package.
Inside, its redesigned cockpit includes a 12.3-inch information display and a 14.9-inch control display.
Front sport seats are included as standard, offering electric seat adjustment with memory function.
Meanwhile, “Sensafin” upholstery, a premium synthetic material that mimics the fine grain of leather, enhances the premium feel.
Gear changes are now performed with a rocker switch.
Other standard interior features include a Harman Kardon surround sound system, Comfort Access System, alarm system, Travel & Comfort System, 4-zone automatic air conditioning, panoramic glass roof, roller sunblind for the rear side windows, floor mats in velour and wireless charging tray.
Luggage capacity is 650 litres, expandable up to 1,870 litres.
The suite of advanced BMW driver assistance systems include the Driving Assistant Professional and Parking Assistant Professional.
The Driving Assistant Professional system integrates a range of camera- and radar-based features, including Steering and Lane Control Assistant, Emergency Stop Assistant, Automatic Speed Limit Assist, Lane Change Assistant, Lane Keeping Assistant with side collision protection, Crossing-Traffic Warning at the front, Evasion Assistant, Intersection Warning with city braking function, and a wrong-way warning function.
Meanwhile, the Parking Assistant Professional offers added peace of mind during tight manoeuvres.
This camera and ultrasound-based driver assistance system includes a reversing assistant, Active Park Distance Control, lateral parking aid, and a Surround View System with Remote 3D View.
Automatic parking is supported for both parallel and perpendicular spaces, while the Manoeuvring Assistant allows the vehicle to save up to 10 preset parking paths – up to 198 metres long – automatically, which can also be activated via smartphone.
In terms of connectivity, the X5 xDrive40i M Sport features the BMW Live Cockpit Professional, led by the BMW Operating System 8.5.
The system supports multiple modes of interaction — from the iDrive Controller and voice commands to touch input and the optional Gesture Control.
With its self-learning capabilities, the system recognises individual driving habits and proactively suggests helpful tips for an even more tailored experience.
There is also a full-colour BMW Head-Up Display.
As part of the Comfort Access System, the new BMW Digital Key Plus is standard, along with the standard smartphone digital key, enabling the vehicle to unlock automatically when the driver approaches.
Other standard connectivity features are the Intelligent Emergency Call, Teleservices, ConnectedDrive Services, Connected Package Professional and Smartphone Integration.
Exterior colours include Mineral White, Black Sapphire, Brooklyn Grey and Skyscraper Grey.
