KUALA LUMPUR: Following a series of previews that have introduced Malaysians to GWM’s newest compact SUV, GWM Malaysia has started collecting orders for the upcoming ORA 5 HEV ahead of its November launch.
The price for the latest hybrid model is estimated at RM115,000 with final disclosure and specifications announced at the launch.
Customers can visit their nearest GWM showroom or the official GWM Malaysia website for more information and to place their booking.
The ORA 5 comes with a distinctive in design and is powered by GWM’s Hi2 intelligent hybrid technology that combines strong performance, impressive efficiency and long driving range drivability.

Its 1.5-litre turbocharged engine is paired with an electric motor to deliver a combined output of 223PS and 476Nm of torque.
Fuel consumption is rated at as low as 4.4 litres per 100km, promising a total driving range of over 1,100km.
GWM Malaysia commercial operations managing director Stan Li said the ORA 5 is distinctive in the way it looks, impressive in the way it performs and remarkably efficient in how far it can go.
"That combination is what makes the ORA 5 HEV anything but ordinary.
"More Malaysians are considering electrified vehicles, but their needs are not all the same. Many want the benefits of electrification while retaining the flexibility of extended driving range and convenient refuelling.
"With our Hi2 intelligent hybrid technology, the ORA 5 HEV brings these qualities together in a package designed around the realities of everyday driving in Malaysia," Li said.

Meanwhile, GWM Malaysia chief operating officer Roslan Abdullah said the company's approach has been on giving Malaysians meaningful choices as they move towards New Energy Vehicles.
