BRUSSELS: Bridgestone has been picked by Maserati to develop custom 20-inch tyres for its first all-electric SUV, the Grecale Folgore.
Following successful collaborations on the MC20 supercar and the Grecale, Bridgestone has produced the Potenza Sport Enliten tyres for this new model.
Bridgestone said the bespoke Potenza Sport Enliten tyres are made to enhance the performance of the Grecale Folgore, providing superior handling in both dry and wet conditions.
These tyres incorporate Bridgestone's Enliten technology, aimed at maximising safety and performance while also enhancing sustainability. The tyres offer low rolling resistance, achieving a best-in-class EU Label A-grade, which helps extend the vehicle's range to 500km.
Bridgestone is heavily investing in making electric mobility more efficient through premium tyres, dedicated fleet and mobility solutions, and developing an EV-ready retail and service network. Maserati aims to produce electric versions of all its models by 2025 and exclusively electric vehicles by 2030.
The Grecale Folgore and its custom Potenza Sport Enliten tyres are both designed and made in Italy.
The development of these tyres used Bridgestone’s Virtual Tyre Development technologies in conjunction with Maserati’s driving simulator. This digital approach reduced the need for physical prototypes, cutting raw material consumption and carbon emissions, and accelerating time to market.
