PETALING JAYA: Bridgestone today rolled out its new flagship Potenza tyre - Potenza Sport.
According to Bridgestone, the new tyre exploits advanced tyre technologies and offers superior road holding performance.
Potenza Sport is said to inherit and enhance key performance characteristics from tyres across the Potenza family, promising exceptional cornering and straight line stability, offering drivers outstanding control on both dry and wet road conditions.
Potenza Sport features various new technologies in tread pattern design, compound and construction.
Innovative 3D sipes are applied to the tyre tread pattern design to increase shear stiffness, as well as to improve and enhance braking and abrasion resistance.
The compound contains an optimised formula that is combined with innovative mixing technology to improve the tyre’s wet and dry handling performances.
Bridgestone also deployed a new hybrid crown reinforcement to maximise tyre stability at high speed.
A sporty carcass package is also applied to increase stability and steering response, while optimising rolling resistance.
During the tyre design and development stage, virtual tyre development technology played a key role in enabling Bridgestone to accurately predict the tyre’s performance without having to physically produce and test it.
This has the dual benefits of being more environmentally-friendly due to the reduced amount of resources required, as well as shortening the duration of the development process, accelerating time-to-market.
“Succeeding Bridgestone’s flagship Potenza S007A, the Potenza Sport is designed to meet the wide range of premium sports sedans and SUVs as well as high performance sports cars’ driver’s needs and expectations by unlocking the performance of their vehicle while keeping them in control," said Bridgestone Tyre Sales (M) Sdn Bhd managing director Michael Chung.
Potenza Sport tyres are original equipment on some of the top car brands, including the Maserati MC20 supercar, Lamborghini Huracán STO, BMW 8 series, amongst others.
Potenza Sport currently available in 16 different sizes ranging from 18 to 19 inches and can be bought from Bridgestone authorised dealers.
The Potenza series has had a long history and has been well received amongst consumers.
The Potenza Adrenalin RE004 is another example of a performance tyre from the same series that provides excellent handling on dry and wet roads. It was launched in 2020 and is available from 15-18 inches.
