SYDNEY: BYD Australia’s investment across four parts and distribution centres reflects the new energy vehicle brand’s commitment to keeping its more than 150,000 customers on the road.
BYD Australia's dealer network now spans over 120 locations and is expected to reach over 150 dealerships by the end of 2026.
BYD’s premier and largest parts and distribution facility in Melbourne’s west is operated in partnership with SF Express, the fourth-largest logistics company in the world and the largest in the Asia-Pacific region.
With some analysts claiming the rapid uptake in EV (electric vehicles) ownership is leading to wait times of six to eight weeks and beyond for critical parts, BYD's infrastructure investment counters the prevailing perception, ensuring wait times are minimised for its customers.

With more than half a million BYD and Denza parts in Australia, BYD can respond to the vast majority of dealer orders without relying on international supply chains or waiting on offshore shipments.
Around 95 per cent of all BYD and Denza vehicle parts across their respective lineups are stocked, with delivery to local dealers within 24 hours, most interstate dealers in just two to three days, and around one week for dealers on the other side of the country or outer rural areas.
BYD parts occupy 15,000 square metres at the SF Express complex in Melbourne, holding a full range of parts for vehicle servicing and repair, as well as special tools and other components to support a wide variety of customer and workshop needs.
It is staffed by a team of 40, and forms part of a national warehousing network that includes distribution nodes in Perth, Sydney and Brisbane; giving BYD an over 24,000 sq metre footprint of parts warehousing across Australia.

BYD Australia chief operating officer Stephen Collins said BYD’s national warehouse and parts footprint represents a significant and genuine investment that ensures all Australian customers have a seamless new energy vehicle ownership experience.
"Our commitment to Australian customers doesn't end at the handover. It starts there,” said Collins.
“Having more than 580,000 parts available locally means we can support every BYD owner, when they need it, wherever they are in Australia."
