Cher, Iggy Pop and Jennifer Hudson will star in the upcoming Pirelli Calendar

MILAN: Some of the world's most famous singer-songwriters are hitting the road for this new edition of the Pirelli Calendar.

While the pandemic put paid to the "Cal 2021," a new edition is on its way for 2022, featuring a highly diverse, international cast with artists spanning several generations and various musical styles, and from the four corners of the globe.

Cher, Iggy Pop, St. Vincent, Normani, Saweetie, Kali Uchis, Grimes, Jennifer Hudson, Bohan Phoenix and Rita Ora will all star in the upcoming edition of the tire group's iconic calendar.

This five-star cast will be photographed by Bryan Adams, as announced by Pirelli last June. The Canadian singer follows a host of renowned photographers, such as Peter Lindbergh, Steven Meisel, Helmut Newton, Mario Sorrenti, Karl Lagerfeld and Patrick Demarchelier.

This year's theme, "On the Road," will focus on the life of musical artists on the road, between bus tours, hotel stays and backstage moments.

In the first behind-the-scenes photos of the shoot shared by Pirelli, we can see Normani in an evening gown posing against a bus, St. Vincent playing guitar in a hotel room, or Rita Ora sitting on car seats in the middle of a street.

Note that you'll have to wait until November 2021 to discover this 48th edition of the legendary Pirelli calendar.
