Chery collaborates with Nvidia, targets 10 million customers by 2030

BEIJING: Chery International wants 10 million export customers worldwide by 2030.

The Chinese automaker had announced its 2030 target at Auto China 2026 (Beijing Auto Show), as well as unveiled a collaboration with Nvidia, to develop and deploy physical AI across advanced driving assistance, Cockpit AI and robotics.

Since launching in 1997, Chery now serves over five million export customers outside of the domestic market to date.

As a Fortune 500 company, listed at 233rd position, Chery International is China’s largest vehicle exporter, operating in over 130 countries.

The group has built a global network of eight research and development centers, 36 production bases, more than 2,000 dealers, and over 1,800 service centers.

At Auto China 2026, Chery also unveiled the all-new Tiggo V - a production-ready, transformable "3-in-1" family model that combines SUV (sport utility vehicle), MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) and pickup-style functionality in a single model.

It offers flexible interior configurations, with a three-row seven-seat layout, and a modular rear that can adapt for passengers, cargo or outdoor use.

Built on a scenario-driven concept, the Tiggo V is powered by Chery’s sixth-generation Chery Super Hybrid (CSH) technology.

Meanwhile, for autonomous driving, Chery Auto will utilise the Nvidia Drive Hyperion platform for L3/L4 intelligent vehicles in China.

Nvidia Drive is a production-ready platform and reference architecture designed for L4 autonomous driving.

The platform integrates the Nvidia Drive AGX Thor computing platform, a validated sensor network, and Nvidia Drive AV software, designed to accelerate the deployment of safe, highly automated driving capabilities.

Meanwhile, Chery Auto will leverage toolchains and development platforms like Nvidia Alpamayo and Nvidia Cosmos to independently develop its autonomous driving software stack, achieving a dual strategy of self-reliance and open innovation.

Powered by Nvidia's AI infrastructure, Chery Auto has established a secure and efficient computational foundation that robustly supports autonomous driving model training, large-scale data processing, and AI algorithm development.

For cockpit AI, Chery Auto will develop next-generation intelligent experiences on Nvidia Drive.

Harnessing generative AI technology, Chery Auto will craft cockpit capabilities with natural emotional interaction, comprehensive scenario awareness, and personalised services.

This collaboration also extends to other cutting-edge fields such as embodied intelligence, including humanoid robots and diverse intelligent robot platforms based on the Nvidia Jetson platform.

Chery Auto will leverage the open robotics simulation framework Nvidia Isaac Sim and the open humanoid robot development platform Nvidia Isaac GR00T to accelerate its expansion from intelligent vehicles into robotics, exploring new frontiers in embodied intelligence.

Chery Auto chairman Yin Tongyue said, “This strategic collaboration with Nvidia represents a pivotal step for Chery Auto in integrating world-class technological resources and accelerating its evolution into a global high-tech ecosystem group."

"By combining Nvidia’s AI infrastructure with Chery Auto’s expertise in intelligent vehicle manufacturing and global operations, the partners will jointly build a full-stack AI ecosystem to deliver more intelligent and safer mobility solutions for users.”
