Chery Malaysia celebrates third anniversary

KUALA LUMPUR: Having a lineup of 10 models and the presence of 60 dealerships nationwide in just three years is nothing short of impressive.

Since its return to Malaysia in 2023, Chery has been hard at work in steadily expanding its footprint through a growing dealer network, an increasingly diverse product lineup and customer-centric initiatives.

Marking their third year is the recent launch of its 10th model which is the Tiggo 9 sports utility vehicle (SUV).

This is accompanied alongside their other major milestone which is the development of the Chery Smart Auto Industrial Park in Lembah Beringin, Selangor.

Following the successful topping-out its first phase, the RM2.2 billion, 200-acre facility is set to become Chery's largest assembly plant in Malaysia.

Said facility will be use to strengthening the brand's local manufacturing capabilities while supporting regional exports and reinforcing Malaysia's strategic role within Chery's ASEAN operations.

Malaysia's growth mirrors Chery's accelerating global momentum as one of the world's fastest-growing automotive brands while serving millions of customers across more than 120 countries.

Beyond business growth, Chery continues to invest in fostering meaningful relationships with its customers both globally and in Malaysia through the brand’s With Chery With Love (WCWL) community.

Chery's dedication to responsible growth is equally reflected in its Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) initiatives.

Together with the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) and the Malaysian Nature Society (MNS), Chery launched Cherish the Nature which an 18-month mangrove restoration programme along the North-Central Selangor Coast earlier this year.

Extending beyond its automotive products, Chery’s commitment to Malaysia also includes continual support of local communities through numerous initiatives.

In 2025 for example, following the fire incident in Putra Heights, Selangor, Chery responded by providing 50 Chery vehicles for affected residents for a period of one month.

As a group Chery believes that the automotive industry thrives on competition and welcomes fair practice of it.

Ultimately, they believe the strongest endorsement of any brand comes from its customers whose confidence in its products will continue to be the backbone of its growth in Malaysia.

The next phase of the company's growth will be focused on growing its product portfolio, strengthening local manufacturing capabilities, enhancing customer ownership experiences and investing in sustainable development to continually reaffirm its long-term commitment to Malaysia and the future of mobility.
