Chery Malaysia presents all-electric Omoda E5 to Investment, Trade and Industry Ministry


KUALA LUMPUR: Chery Malaysia has presented an all-electric Omoda E5 crossover to the Investment, Trade and Industry Ministry.

The vehicle was handed over to Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Utama Zafrul Tengku Aziz by Chery Automobile chairman Yin Tong Yue.

Yin and his delegation is in Malaysia from Nov 27-29 to explore new trends and opportunities in the local automotive market.

Also in the delegation were Chery International president Zhang Gui Bing, Chery International vice-president Chen Chun Qing and other senior executives.

The senior management team will also be holding discussions with Malaysian automotive market players, Chery dealers investors, and other key industry representative during the visit to gain a clearer understanding of Malaysia's new automotive policies and trends.

The Omoda E5 embodies Chery's commitment to advancing sustainable and electric mobility solutions.

Chery is taking a monumental step forward with the Omoda E5 by delivering a combination of cutting-edge technology, environmental consciousness and avantgarde design as the automotive industry transitions towards a greener future .

The all-electric Omoda E5 crossover continues the classic performance of Omoda 5 variant and incorporates intelligent technology, will be officially showcased at the exclusive media preview event at the end of November.

Yin said Malaysia is a crucial part of Chery's global strategy.

“The CKD factory invested by the group will not only cover the local Malaysian market but will also radiate throughout the entire Southeast Asian region, becoming a stronghold for new forces to enter Southeast Asia in the future,” he said.

The Omoda 5's latest export data released in October showed that its global cumulative export volume had exceeded 130,000 vehicles.

The mid-sized crossover was also successfully launched in Vietnam in October, injecting more vitality into the Southeast Asian market and laying an important tone for Omoda 5's positive development in the region.
