Chery Malaysia: Wheel detachment caused by accident, not component failure

KUALA LUMPUR: Chery Auto Malaysia has clarified that an accident was the cause of a Chery vehicle to lose its wheels in an incident today.

In a statement, Chery said aside from the wheels, the accident along the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE) also damaged the vehicle's front bumper.

"Our team has already established contact with the customer involved and is providing the necessary assistance," the company said.

The company said the incident had raised concerns among its customers and prompted public speculation.

"Chery Auto Malaysia urges the public to refrain from sharing unverified information, as this may cause unnecessary concern among road users and contribute to misinformation.
