KUALA LUMPUR: The Chery Tiggo 7 Pro 5-seater sports utility vehicle (SUV) will be priced below RM130,000 and start deliveries at end-May 2024.
Its rivals include the Proton X70, Honda CR-V and Mazda CX-5.
In a media preview, the Tiggo 7 Pro is powered by a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol direct injection (TGDI) engine, generating 197PS and torque of 290Nm and paired to a 7-speed Dual Clutch Transmission (DCT).
Fuel consumption is rated at 7.0 litres per 100km.
Features include a panoramic sunroof, a 24.6-inch integrated dual screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless 50W charger (with an active cooling system that reduces the phone's temperature during charging), customisable 64-colour ambient lighting and 8-speaker Sony Premium Sound system, a first-in-class 540-degree camera system, remote powered tailgate, as well as the latest-generation Advanced Driver Assistance System 2.5 (ADAS 2.5) system.
There are also high-quality leatherette upholstery and front ventilated seats.
The Tiggo 7 Pro is billed as providing ample interior space with a length of 4,513mm and wheelbase of 2670mm, and a rear cargo capacity of 475 (second row up) to 1,672 litres (second row folded).
The SUV has a height of 1,696mm, with a ground clearance of 175mm, and a width of 1862mm.
The Tiggo 7 Pro will be offered in four colours; Bloodstone Red with Black Roof, Carbon Black, Vanilla Blue and Khaki White with Black Roof.
Bookings have opened, with the SUV available for viewing at all Chery showrooms nationwide from April 2024 onwards.
