KUALA LUMPUR: The new seven-seater Chery Tiggo 8 variant has been launched at RM129,800 and comes with a launch package valued at RM13,700.
The launch package includes a seven-year warranty (vehicle) or up to 150,000km, 10-year warranty (engine) or up to one million km, five-years free service (all-inclusive) and one-year Chery insurance programme.
Offered in Dark Black or Khaki White, the new Tiggo 8 is positioned as the more attainable sibling to Chery’s flagship Tiggo 8 Pro and Tiggo 8 PHEV Chery Super Hybrid.
"The Tiggo 8 delivers best-in-class performance and advanced safety features, and we believe it will continue to embody the quality and practicality that define the Tiggo series,” said Chery Malaysia vice president Lee Wen Hsiang.
Under the hood, the Tiggo 8 packs a 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol direct injection (TGDi) engine paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission (DCT), producing of torque.
Fuel efficiency is rated at seven litres per 100km.
The Tiggo 8 measures 4,772mm in length and 1,860mm in width, with a 2,710mm wheelbase.
It has a kerb weight of 1,590kg and up to 1,930 litres of boot space.
Features include a power tailgate, a Sony premium sound system with eight speakers, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 12.3-inch infotainment display and a 10.25-inch digital meter cluster.
Its robust structure uses 74% high-strength steel, while six airbags, a 360-degree panoramic camera and a suite of advanced driver assistance system (ADAS) features provide safety.
Key ADAS features include Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB), Rear Collision Warning (RCW), Door Open Warning (DOW), Forward Collision Warning (FCW), Lane Departure Warning (LDW), Blind Spot Detection (BSD), Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Intelligent High Beam Control (IHC) and Distance Warning System (DWS).
