Chery Tiggo range builds strong UK appeal

LONDON: Chery UK registered 2,127 cars in January 2026, Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) figures show.

With sales starting in September 2025, this takes Chery’s first five months of trading in the UK to 7,644 cars, securing a 1.48% market share in January.

The figures, independently verified by the SMMT, highlight the growing popularity of Chery’s three-car model line-up.

This includes the Chery Tiggo 7 and Tiggo 8, two SUVs which combine distinctive styling, family-focused practicality and exceptional value, alongside the flagship Tiggo 9 Super Hybrid, which only began sales in January.

The Chinese automaker is supported by a growing network of 58 UK retailers.

Backed by parent company Chery International – China’s largest vehicle exporter for 23 consecutive years – Chery is fast becoming a recognised name among British drivers.

Chery UK country director Farrell Hsu said, “2026 is set to be a defining year for Chery in the UK. Our focus is firmly on building long-term success through stronger brand recognition, meaningful customer relationships and exceptional aftersales support."

"As our model line-up and retailer network continue to grow, we are committed to ensuring every customer experiences the quality and service standards that will underpin Chery's future in the UK.”
