Chery UK reaches record 2% UK market share in July

LONDON: Chery achieved a record 2% share of the UK new car market in July, registering 3,212 vehicles.

This latest success comes less than a year since the brand launched in the UK.

Electrified models led the way, accounting for more than 70% of Chery’s July registrations.

These include the Chery Super Hybrid (CSH) models, whose plug-in hybrid powertrains combine all-electric running for day-to-day journeys with the convenience and flexibility of a highly efficient petrol engine for longer trips.

The award-winning Tiggo 8 CSH was the brand's best-seller for the month by far, recording a total of 1,117 registrations.

Designed with families in mind, this seven-seat SUV offers an electric-only range of up to 56 miles (90km).

Chery UK managing director Farrell Hsu said, “Reaching a 2% share of the UK market in July is a significant milestone, and one we've achieved in less than a year. This reflects just how quickly UK customers have embraced Chery, and the exceptional value, usability, and quality our vehicles deliver.

“This momentum is underpinned by the incredible strength of Chery Group. In the first half of this year, the company ranked among the world's top 10 automotive groups, and became the first from China to surpass a total of 20 million sales globally."

"This scale gives us the resources and expertise to design and develop exceptional vehicles with all the features and technologies that customers want as standard, yet offer them at attainable prices – our latest record sales performance in the UK reflects this.”

Chery Group's record-breaking July performance, with 202,533 international deliveries, means it has also become the first Chinese automaker to exceed 200,000 units in a single month.

From January to July, total international deliveries reached 1.146 million units, a 71.2% year-on-year increase - meaning a Chery-manufactured vehicle heads to the global market every 16 seconds.
