BEIJING: China's Wuling Motors has lowered starting prices for its Mini EV electric vehicles to as low as 29,800 yuan (RM19,281), the company said today.
Some new energy vehicle models saw price cuts of as much as 13,000 yuan (RM8,411), it added in a statement.
The tiny two-door four-seat Hongguang Mini comes in five battery pack options that offers a range of 120km to 280km. There's even a two-seat cabriolet version, which is good for 280km.
A single electric motor in the rear axle produces 27hp and 85Nm of torque.
The Hongguang Mini is the brainchild of SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile Co., a joint venture between SAIC Motor Corp. and Guangxi Automobile Group Co., two state-backed automakers, and US giant General Motors Co.
The original Hongguang Mini comes in around 20 different base colours, which can be switched up, and buyers can customise the interior as well. — Reuters/Bloomberg
