China's Zeekr to sell EVs in Singapore in 2H2024

SHANGHAI: Zeekr, owned by China's Geely, has signed an agreement with a Singaporean company to distribute right-hand drive Zeekr 009 MPVs and Zeekr X urban SUVs to customers in the island nation, a Zeekr spokesperson for the automaker said on Friday.

The automaker plans to begin delivering the cars in the second half of 2024, the spokesperson said.

Zeekr has previously announced plans to sell cars in Europe, the Middle East and some Asian markets.

Meanwhile, Zeekr has received over 51,569 orders for the new Zeekr 007 B-class all-electric luxury sedan after its debut at Auto Guangzhou 40 days ago.

Enhanced by 800V electrical system, the 007 is the first model to use Zeekr’s in-house ADAS system, and also an in-house-developed audio system.

The long-range variant, powered by CATL Qilin batteries, offers 870km (CLTC) of range while the standard range version with Zeekr’s in-house batteries can drive 688km (CLTC) between charges.

The 007 is the fourth Zeekr model after the 001 in 2021, 009 in 2022 and X in 2023.

The 007 measures in at (LxWxH) 4,865mm, 1,900mm, and 1,450mm with a wheelbase of 2,928mm and is the first sedan to adopt an integrated mega-casting rear-end aluminum body which pushes its torsional stiffness to 43,500 Nm/deg.

It is also the first vehicle to be powered by the lithium-ion phosphate (LFP) battery cell and pack technologies developed by Zeekr’s in-house battery engineering team.

The highway Navigation Zeekr Pilot (NZP), a feature from the in-house developed AD driving assistant system, will be available for use in major Chinese cities from delivery.

When it comes to the design, the new Hidden Energy design language is expressed through with Zeekr Stargate light band in the front face, which is a 90-inch light curtain with 1,711 lamp beads.

The lights of the 007 have an industry-leading 10,000 nits of brightness and support personalized projection so the driver and interact with cars and pedestrians in the surrounding world.

The starting price of the 007 is RMB209,000. Deliveries will start from January 1, 2024.
