The grand tourer is priced at RM417,659.05 (without SST) and RM430,800 (with SST). It was launched alongside the 530e M Sport and 530i M Sport.
The new 630i GT features revised headlights, a larger kidney grille, new bumper and LED headlight design. BMW Laserlight is an option if you want to pay extra.
A new bumper shape and a new diffuser insert come with the M Sport package, complemented by two-sided trapezoidal exhaust pipes. An active rear spoiler for the tailgate comes as standard, increasing downforce at higher speeds. The 630i GT comes with 20-inch alloy wheels with mixed run-flat tyres.
The spoiler automatically deploys at 120kph and is retracted once the car slows down to 80kph. Meanwhile, manual operation is available via a button on the centre console. For added convenience, the 630i GT comes with the Comfort Access System and BMW Display Key.
The 630i GT is powered by an inline four-cylinder petrol engine capable of a maximum output of 258 hp, a peak torque of 400 Nm and a top speed of 250kph. The century sprint is completed in 6.5 seconds.
The generous, luxurious interior and slightly elevated seats (by 5 cm) ensure pleasant journeys and all-round visibility. Leather Dakota upholstery, individual headliner anthracite and fine-wood ash trunkwood open-pored trim with Pearl Chrome highlight trim finisher are amongst the highlights.
From the driver’s seat, the standout feature is the fully digital instrument display along with the central Control Display – its size increased from 10.25 inches to 12.3 inches. The High Gloss Black control buttons in the centre console and instrument panels in Sensatec appear sophisticated and elegant. Standard are 4-zone climate control, sports seats for both driver and front passenger, along with M leather steering wheel and head-up display for the driver.
BMW says the rear seat bench provides three full-size seats, along with generous legroom. Additional touches to comfort are roller sunblinds – electrical for the rear window and mechanical for rear passengers’ side windows. A two-part panoramic glass roof at just over one metre in length and 90cm wide, creates an airy space. Complementing the array of comfort features is a 16-speaker Harman Kardon audio system.
The car is equipped with Driving Assistant and Parking Assistant Plus, as well as active cruise control with Stop&Go function. AThe car also gets a fully digital BMW Live Cockpit Professional with BMW Operating System 7, which provides access to a world of BMW digital features. These features include navigation, the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, 4G LTE connectivity and various services such as Remote Software Upgrade and over-the-air map updates for the navigation system.
Four exterior colours are offered – Bernina Grey Amber Effect, Mineral White, Carbon Black and Sophisto Grey Brilliant Effect. For the interior, customers can choose either Leather ‘Dakota’ Black or Leather ‘Dakota’ Cognac.
