Cycle and Carriage supports 4 students’ automotive dreams


PETALING JAYA: In its fifth year, the Cycle & Carriage (C&C) Study Grant 2025 is supporting four students’ automotive dreams with financial aid worth RM40,000.

The students, from Despark International College (DSIC), are:

  • Tan Jian Li – age 23, Major: Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Principles (SKM Level 3 + C&G Level 3)
  • Tan Jian San – age 21, Major: Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Principles (SKM Level 3 + C&G Level 3)
  • Ahmad Akif Sofwan Ahmad Azli – age 18, Major: Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Principles (SKM Level 3 + C&G Level 3)
  • Chiam Jin Xian – age 20, Major: Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair Principles (SKM Level 3 + C&G Level 3)

The study grant is C&C’s effort to make quality automotive education more accessible, especially to students from lower-income households or single-income families.

This year, the grant includes a bursary of RM10,000 per recipient with a two-year bonded contract that secures a career pathway and guaranteed employment upon graduation.

Open to Malaysians aged 16 and above, applicants must be enrolled in an automotive training institution accredited by the Department for Skills Development (DSD) under the Ministry of Human Resources or by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE).

The study grant signing ceremony was recently held at C&C Mutiara Damansara, officiated in the presence of C&C Malaysia CEO Adrian Short, chief financial officer James Zhang, after sales general manager Mark Ho, and head of people and culture Christine Eu.

“I hope I can further my knowledge and be successful in this field by working with Cycle & Carriage, as it has always been my interest since young.” said Chiam.

“I believe this grant will help me become a skilled individual who can contribute positively to the automotive industry,” said Ahmad Akif.

“Receiving this grant from a reputable company like Cycle & Carriage has really boosted my confidence and inspired me to work harder and become a better version of myself,” said Jian San.
