GENTING HIGHLANDS: Resorts World Genting (RWG) has introduced a fleet of Denza D9 Premium electric MPVs for its shuttle service operations, marking the integrated resort’s latest move towards greener mobility solutions.
The new EV shuttle service was officially launched at a handover ceremony held at Awana Village, involving representatives from RWG, Denza Sime Motors and BYD Sime Motors.
According to RWG, the Denza D9 Premium vehicles will be used to transport guests between Genting Grand and Crockfords, offering a quieter and more premium travel experience within the resort.
RWG said the initiative reflects its ongoing commitment towards reducing carbon emissions while supporting broader sustainability goals across its operations.

RWG executive vice president of sales, marketing and public relations Spencer Lee said the introduction of the EV shuttle service represents another step in the resort’s sustainability journey.
“The introduction of the Denza D9 EV shuttle service marks an important milestone in RWG’s sustainability journey. As we continue exploring greener initiatives across our operations, we also want to elevate the guest experience by providing transportation that is not only efficient and luxurious, but also environmentally responsible,” he said.
Meanwhile, Denza Sime Motors head of retail Bea Kwang Tat said the Denza D9 was selected to complement the resort’s premium positioning and hospitality experience.
“We are honoured that RWG has chosen the Denza D9 for its shuttle service. Designed to deliver refined comfort and sophistication, we believe the D9 will elevate the overall guest experience in line with the resort’s positioning,” he said.

RWG also claims to be the first integrated resort in the industry to introduce the Denza D9 Premium as part of its transport service operations.
The fully electric luxury MPV uses BYD’s Blade Battery technology and features a three-row seating layout with Nappa leather upholstery, with the resort highlighting passenger comfort and cabin refinement as key elements of the shuttle experience.
The move also reflects how premium EVs are increasingly finding roles beyond private ownership, particularly in hospitality and chauffeur-driven applications where refinement, silence and passenger comfort are becoming key differentiators.
For Resorts World Genting, the Denza D9 also fits into a broader industry shift where luxury hospitality brands are beginning to align premium guest experiences with lower-emission transport solutions. - Zachary Ho
