KUALA LUMPUR: DENZA Malaysia has officially launched the all-electric Z9 GT, marking the model’s Asia-Pacific debut and introducing the brand’s flagship luxury grand tourer that combines supercar-rivalling performance, advanced electric technology and long-distance touring capability.
Priced at RM358,800 on-the-road without insurance, the Z9 GT is positioned below BYD’s flagship Yangwang U9 supercar and represents Denza's entry into the high-performance luxury grand touring segment.
Two exterior colours, namely Rime Gold and Obsidian Black are offered to customers who can choose from three interior combinations.

This includes full-Black interior with suede seats and yellow stitching, a Dark Chocolate with Perg Beige combination, or a Dark Chocolate with Red Velvet interior that's exclusively reserved for those who opt for Obsidian Black.
For peace of mind, the Z9 GT comes with a six-year or 150,000km vehicle warranty, together with a six-year complimentary scheduled maintenance worth RM10,000.
An eight-year or 160,000km high-voltage battery warranty is also included, along with an eight-year or 160,000km drive unit warranty, three years of complimentary Flash Charging and a complimentary pair of Denza x Devialet wireless earbuds worth RM2,000.
Built on BYD’s new e3 (e-cubed) Platform, the Z9 GT is the first production model to feature the company’s latest 1,000V high-voltage electrical architecture, paired with the second-generation Blade Battery and BYD’s proprietary Flash Charging Technology.

Powering the 20-inch wheels with 225/45 series tyres is a tri-motor all-wheel-drive system that provides a total system output of 850kW (1,156PS) and 1,210Nm of torque - allowing this grand tourer to sprint from 0 to 100kph in 2.7 seconds before reaching an electronically limited top speed of 240kph.
The front axle is driven by a single electric motor producing 230kW and 410Nm at 19,000rpm, while the rear axle uses two independent motors producing a combined 620kW and 800Nm at 25,000rpm.
Energy is supplied by a 122.49kWh second-generation Blade Battery to provide a claimed driving range of up to 701km (NEDC).
The latest Blade Battery uses BYD’s Cell-to-Body construction, where the battery pack forms part of the vehicle structure to increase chassis rigidity, improve energy density and maintain the company’s battery safety standards.

The second-generation Blade Battery is said to deliver around 5% higher energy density compared with the previous generation while retaining strong thermal stability and safety characteristics.
The battery also introduces BYD Flash Charging Technology, allowing the battery to charge from 10% to 70% in five minutes, or from 10% to 97% in nine minutes, while using the brand's proprietary Flash Charging station.
BYD Malaysia said it is currently studying its introduction and will be available at selected Denza showrooms upon implementation.
The Z9 GT also comes with a 4Kw Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability, allowing owners to power external electrical devices using energy stored in the battery.

Styled around DENZA’s “Elegance in Motion” design philosophy, the Z9 GT adopts a sleek shooting brake silhouette with a long bonnet, low roofline and muscular rear haunches.
Its proportions are defined by a 1:3 wheel-to-axle ratio, a prominent Z-shaped character line and a broad rear stance.
With a generous 3,125mm wheelbase, it measures in at 5,180mm in length, 1,990mm in width, and 1,490mm in height.
The body is finished in an advanced 2K Nano-Clear Coating that's complemented by a Meteor Design Welcome Light system.

Aerodynamics are enhanced through a static upper rear spoiler and an active lower spoiler that automatically deploys above 90kph to increase downforce and subsequently improve stability.
The exterior is further enhanced with flush door handles, LEDs for the front automatic headlights and rear hourglass-design light clusters.
A double-layer silver-coated windscreen helps reduce glare, heat and wind noise, while laminated glass is used for the side windows and the large 1.98 sq m panoramic sunroof with dual electric sunshades.
The hands-free powered tailgate introduces an innovative AR projection system that projects an illuminated activation point onto the ground.

When the owner steps onto the projection while carrying the key, the rear suspension automatically lowers before opening the tailgate, providing easier access to the 495-litre boot. A 53-litre frunk luggage compartment is also available.
A rear-wheel steering system that adjusts up to 15 degrees not only helps it achieve a tight 4.62m turning radius, but also provides Crab Mode, which allows the front and rear wheels to steer in the same direction for diagonal movement.
The unique Compass Turn function locks one of the front wheels while independently controlling the rear wheels, allowing the vehicle to rotate in extremely tight spaces or simply get the rear end into a parallel parking spot.
The Z9 GT is also equipped with an e3 Smart Parking system with Automatic Parking Assistance to simplify manoeuvring into narrow parking spaces.

Vehicle Motion Control continuously adjusts torque delivery to individual wheels for improved stability on slippery roads, while a high-speed tyre burst control function helps maintain control following a tyre blowout at speeds up to 180kph.
Ride comfort is managed by aluminium double-wishbone front suspension, aluminium five-link rear suspension and DiSus-A dual-chamber air suspension with continuously variable damping control.
Here, ground clearance can be adjusted between 100mm and 145mm, while Malaysian-specification vehicles receive sportier suspension and damping calibration that's meant for the European market.
Inside, the cabin is touted to combine luxury craftsmanship with advanced digital technology by featuring genuine wood veneer, leather upholstery, a knitted fleece roof lining and powered frameless doors with soft-close operation controlled through buttons or voice commands.

Both front and rear passengers benefit from power-adjustable seats with ventilation, heating and massage functions.
The driver’s seat also features an active Dynamic Bolster System for additional support during spirited driving.
Comfort features include a four-zone climate control system, dual 50W wireless phone chargers and an integrated refrigerator capable of cooling beverages to minus six degrees Celsius or heating them up to 50 degrees Celsius.
The dashboard is centred around three high-resolution displays comprising a 17.3-inch 2.5K central infotainment touchscreen, a 13.2-inch digital instrument cluster and a matching 13.2-inch passenger display.

Powered by an advanced 3nm processor, the infotainment system features Google Built-in connectivity, Google Maps, Google Play, offline navigation, personalised Google account integration and the Denza Voice Assistant with Bahasa Malaysia language support.
Entertainment comes from a 20-speaker Devialet premium audio system with motorised pop-up speakers and multi-colour ambient lighting.
A high-resolution 9.1-inch digital rear-view mirror provides three times the field of view compared with a conventional mirror, while the smart key ecosystem adds further convenience.
Safety is reinforced by an ultra-high-strength cage-type body structure comprising 90% high-strength steel, aluminium anti-collision beams and nine airbags, among others.

Speaking at the launch, BYD Malaysia managing director Jacob Ma said the Z9 GT represents the next evolution of intelligent luxury mobility.
“With the DENZA Z9 GT, we are redefining luxury mobility through the seamless integration of intelligence, performance and innovation that truly serves people.
“As the first model equipped with BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery, the Z9 GT delivers enhanced safety, longer battery life and ultra-fast charging, providing greater convenience and confidence for our customers,” said Ma.

Also present at the launch was BYD vice-president and general manager of BYD Asia-Pacific auto sales division Liu Xueliang, who said the company’s technological leadership continued to be driven by extensive investment in research and development.
Liu added that BYD now employs more than 123,000 research and development engineers globally, has produced over 17 million new energy vehicles and surpassed 4.6 million global sales.
The Z9 GT is now available for viewing and test drives at Denza Premium Showrooms nationwide, including Balakong, Glenmarie, KLCC, KL North, Old Klang Road, Melaka, Penang and Skudai.
