SHAH ALAM: Automotive logistics specialist DRB-Hicom Auto Solutions Sdn Bhd (DHAS) has taken delivery of seven units of MAN TGS 18.360 4x2 that will form the core of its own fleet of car carriers.
Previously, DHAS had mostly depended on third party transport companies while operating three units of leased Japanese prime movers to provide vehicle transportation services.
Established in 2006, DHAS is currently experiencing dynamic growth in tandem with the increasing number of electric vehicles (EVs) being produced locally and imported into the country.
According to DHAS CEO Fawzi Ahmad, DHAS is now the preferred logistics provider to more than 20 automotive brands operating in Malaysia.
“We are scaling up our own fleet to meet the growing demand and ensure our business’ long-term success. "After thorough evaluation that included an extensive list of parameters, we opted for the Euro V-specification MAN TGS prime mover as it ticked all the boxes," he said.

"It met our expectations in terms of vehicle specifications, safety features, price point, aftersales support, sustainability goals, fleet management integration and operational fit, durability and reliability."
"The MAN TGS is also technologically advanced with an integrated telematics system that is user friendly. Our drivers love the truck’s design and its spacious and comfortable cabin,“ he added.
Fawzi also commended the MAN Malaysia team for its professionalism and ability to work closely with its appointed car carrier fabricator and various authorities to ensure timely delivery.
MAN Truck & Bus (M) Sdn Bhd managing director Andrew O’Brooks said the company was delighted to be able to help DHAS put the urgently-needed prime movers on the road in record time.
“It clearly demonstrated our commitment to help simplify business. As the first heavy truck with Euro V engines as standard in Malaysia, we have the most experience in helping transporters achieve fuel efficiency, reduce emissions and lower total cost of ownership (TCO)," he said.
"Our Euro V MAN Trucks are proven and reliable solutions, having been operating here in real-world conditions since 2021.”
Also, DHAS has expressed interest in the MAN eTGX, with its impressive 800km range, as it looks to electrification as a way to lower operating costs.
