KUALA LUMPUR: Dongfeng passenger cars in Malaysia has expanded its initial offering of the Box to now include two new fully-electric additions – the 007 sedan, which made its debut alongside the Vigo sports utility vehicle (SUV).

Joining local official distributor Central Auto Distributors Bhd (CADB) – a subsidiary of Pekema – is Singaporean distributor Volt Auto, which has been appointed by Dongfeng Motor Corp in China as its branding strategist for Singapore and Malaysia.

Volt Auto will work with CADB to expand the Donfeng brand in Malaysia.

The 007, a D-segment EV sedan, comes in two variants, starting with the Premium (a long-range rear-wheel-driven unit) that's been priced on-the-road without insurance at RM169,888.

The Prime is the range-topper that's going for RM195,888 and uses a dual-motor setup for an all-wheel-drive performance.

Colour options include Eclipse Grey, Obsidian Black, Celestial White and Starlit Silver, while the interior can be had in Black with White contrast or, specifically for the Prime variant, White with Grey contrast.

Additionally, new owners will receive an ABB wallbox charger while also getting a standard warranty of a six-year unlimited mileage type which includes an eight-year unlimited mileage coverage for the battery and drive motor system.

To further entice, a rebate of RM8,888 has been provided, dropping the prices down to RM161,000 and RM187,000, respectively.

The 007 gets gifted with a 2,915mm wheelbase and comes in measuring 4,880mm in length, 1,895mm in width and 1,465mm in height – allowing it to have a 452-litre boot that's expandable to 1,026 litres.

Its disc brakes have red-painted callipers and also comes with an electronic parking brake.

The 73.48kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) powers its rear-axle-mounted electric motor producing 268hp (200kW) and 310Nm of torque – allowing it to sprint from 0 to 100kph in 5.8 seconds and provide up to 650km (about 520km WLTC) of range.

The battery accepts up to 6.6kW of AC during recharging and up to 200kW with a DC charger to bring its State of Charge (SoC) up to 80% in about 11 minutes.

A 3.3kW vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability is also included.

The century sprint time is quicker at 3.9 seconds while the range drops to 565km, while larger 19-inch wheels with 235/45 series tyres are used.

The RM108,888 fully-electric Vigo SUV, on the other hand, is available only in a single variant, offering buyers 161hp (120kW) and 230Nm of torque at the front wheels.
