CYBERJAYA: Dongfeng Cars Malaysia is gearing up for its next wave of launches with the preview of two new electric vehicle (EV) models.
The high performance electric liftback Dongfeng 007 and versatile compact electric Vigo sports utility vehicle (SUV) are scheduled for a first quarter launch next year.
Positioned to engage the growing high-performance EV segment in Malaysia, the 007 has a power output of up to 400kW and a maximum torque of 640Nm.
It is said the model can achieve a 0–100 kph acceleration in 3.9 seconds.
For a more practical and family-friendly electric mobility option, the Vigo is designed to appeal to everyday users especially first-time electric SUV adopters seeking an accessible and modern choice.
The five-seater model is said to have a driving range of up to 471km (CLTC) and DC fast charging capability of achieving 30%–80% in approximately 18 to 30 minutes depending on the battery size.
The preview units were brought in by Central Auto Distributors Berhad (CADB) who is the exclusive importer and distributor of Dongfeng passenger vehicles in Malaysia.
CADB managing director and Pekema president Datuk Mohamed Nazari Noordin said the preview is an important early introduction as they prepare the market for what’s coming in 2026.
"These models represent our ongoing commitment to bringing accessible, intelligent, and sustainable mobility solutions to Malaysians,” said Mohamed Nazari.
CADB chief operating officer Wan Ahmad Fadzli Wan Mustafa further commented that full details of the models will be shared at the official launch.
“This exclusive preview allows our media partners to experience Dongfeng’s upcoming direction firsthand.
"The session also reflects our readiness to strengthen our dealer network, enhance after-sales capabilities, and expand Dongfeng’s footprint in Malaysia," he added.
In the meantime, Dongfeng in line with its “My 1st EV” initiative is holding a Year End Sales (Y.E.S.) campaign for the Dongfeng Box.
For a limited time buyers can enjoy give-away of up to RM30,000 along with exclusive complimentary gifts.
This includes a portable charging device worth RM1,088 and a front cabin storage module worth RM1,250 (while stocks last).
