Dongfeng previews 008, Voyah Dream and M Hero II at KLIMS 2026

KUALA LUMPUR: Dongfeng Malaysia surprised everyone with a sudden unveiling of three new flagship models at the tail end of the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS) 2026.

The fully electric Dongfeng 008 is powered by a 200kW electric motor and is said to have up to 636 km of driving range.

Its key element lies in its spacious cabin that houses entertainment features and conveniences such as an intelligent in-car refrigerator.

The luxury-premium seven-seater Voyah Dream is the only multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) of the trio and is available internationally in both plug-in hybrid electric (PHEV) and full-electric (EV) variants.

Its PHEV variant has a supposed range of up to 1,500km.

Another PHEV to be introduced is the luxury off-road capable M Hero II sports utility vehicle (SUV).

Powered by a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine paired with dual electric motors, the powertrain of the M Hero II is said to produce 687HP and up to 1,300km of combined driving range.

Its highlights include an intelligent all-wheel drive (AWD) system, multiple terrain modes and advanced chassis technologies.

Marking their first public appearance in Malaysia, Dongfeng says the showcase of the trio highlights the company's commitment to bringing innovative New Energy Vehicles (NEVs) and premium mobility solutions to local consumers.

It would also seem like the three, showcased in left-hand drive variant for the time being, represent the eventual sub-brand separation that will represent Dongfeng's products moving forward.

"KLIMS 2026 provides the perfect platform for us to showcase the breadth of Dongfeng's innovation and explore new possibilities in premium and intelligent mobility. These three models represent different lifestyles and aspirations, yet all share the same commitment to technology, quality and electrification," a spokesperson from the company added.

At present Dongfeng Malaysia is actively expanding its nationwide retail and service network. They're welcoming dealer partners interested in representing the Dongfeng brand, as well as future opportunities with the Voyah brand name.

This is in addition to plans in regards to establishing additional showrooms and service centres across key regions in Malaysia.

In line with its customer-first approach, Dongfeng says it will provide strong support for authorised partners, including investment in showroom development, after-sales service centre setup, technical training, and operational support.

The aim is to ensure that all Dongfeng customers, whether for premium or mainstream models, receive a consistent and high-quality ownership experience across the entire network.

Through this expansion the company also aims to strengthen brand accessibility, enhance service coverage, and build a robust retail ecosystem to support the growing demand for NEVs in the region.

Lastly, the company is running its nationwide ambassador search campaign until the end of the month.

Open to all, participants can join at any time before the deadline of July 31 by posting their Dongfeng moments for a chance to win up to RM100,000 in cash prizes and a one-year car sponsorship of their preferred model. Terms and conditions apply.
