Dr Wee: Comprehensive action plan will be announced on driving licence backlog
By THE STAR | 23 August 2022PETALING JAYA: A comprehensive action plan will be announced soon regarding the delay of candidates taking their driving tests post-Covid-19.
In a surprise visit to the Malaysian Road Transport Academy today, the Transport Minister was briefed on the issues of the delays as well as the lack of Driving Institute Instructor Certificate instructors.
"As I had announced recently, a comprehensive action plan will be announced in the near future so that these issues can be overcome in the best interests of the public," he said in a Facebook post today.
On Aug 18, Dr Wee instructed the Road Transport Department (JPJ) to clear the backlog of candidates waiting to obtain driving licenses.
The MCA president said that the ministry and JPJ would conduct on-ground monitoring to listen to stakeholders and the public to solve the issue.
