PETALING JAYA: Ducati Malaysia has launched the much anticipated Panigale V2 performance superbike.

Launched alongside the new Scrambler Icon Dark and Panigale V4 and V4S, the Panigale V2 has been priced at RM109,900 each with four units already sold, but not to worry because there are seven more units due to arrive on our shores on Aug 28.

Colour choices include the usual Ducati Red livery that's matched with black wheels or customers can opt for an all-new White Rosso livery with Star White Silk that's complimented by Ducati Red on the rims, front air inlets and upper-half fairing deflector.

The Panigale V2's Euro5-compliant 955cc twin-cylinder Superquadro engine is touted to have undergone a thorough makeover to produce 155hp (+5hp) at 10,750rpm and 104Nm (+2Nm) of torque at 9,000rpm.

This is partially thanks to the new exhaust system with a more compact under-engine silencer and single-side end pipe.

Ducati says that the checks on the engine's valve play are scheduled every 24,000km with regularly scheduled services to occur every 12,000km or 12 months (whichever comes first).

In the looks department, the Panigale V2 has been newly-designed to look more compact.

It is also said to provide greater levels of comfort for the rider with a more comfortable saddle and suspension set-up from the single-sided swingarm.

Furthermore, the bike comes fitted as standard with a Brembo braking system that uses twin M4.32 monobloc callipers actuated by master cylinders for the 320mm front discs.

At the rear, a single 24mm disc gets abused by a single Brembo calliper.

Riders get three Riding Modes of Race, Sport and Street which can be adjusted via the new 4.3-inch colour TFT dashboard.

As an optional extra, the Panigale V2 can be added with the Ducati Lap Time (DLT) GPS system or a more advanced Ducati Data Analyser + GPS (DDA + GPS) system which are available under the Ducati Performance plug-and-play accessory list.

Both systems will help a rider improve their on-track performance in terms of lap times, maximum speed and lean/yaw angles.

However, the DDA + GPS system adds on other information such as throttle opening, bike speed, engine speed, selected gear, engine temperature, distance travelled, and DTC.

Also available as an added option is the Ducati Multimedia System (DMS) which provides Bluetooth connectivity to a rider's smartphone.

Finally, for safety, the Panigale V2 comes equipped with anti-lock braking system Bosch Cornering EVO, Ducati Wheelie Control (DWC) EVO, Ducati Quick Shift Up/down (DQS) EVO and Engine Brake Control (EBC) EVO.
