PETALING JAYA: An additional eight roadblocks have been set up on PLUS highway toll plazas on the second day of the conditional movement control order (MCO) in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya.

The roadblocks are mounted at the toll plazas in Rawang, Tanjung Malim, Bukit Raja, Kajang, Bangi, USJ, Putra Heights and Bandar Saujana Putra.

This brings the total number of roadblocks on PLUS Highways to 17.

Prior to this, nine were announced for toll plazas in Jalan Duta, Setia Alam, Shah Alam, Putra Mahkota, Sungai Buaya, Bukit Tagar, Bukit Beruntung, Lembah Beringin and Seafield.

PLUS said the people should stay at home unless required by work to travel.

The goal was to reduce exposure to Covid-19 by complying with instructions from the National Security Council, it said today.

In a related development, Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said the 10km radius travelling limit that was implemented during the early days of the conditional MCO no longer applies.

He said the public can travel further than this provided their journey was within the district boundaries.

However, he said aside from going to work, one should only go outside to pick up essential supplies.

He also said Kuala Lumpur was considered one area or district, so people in Cheras, for instance, could travel to Bukit Bintang.

“But bear in mind, the travel must be to buy your necessities and not for social or other purposes.
